The garage would be used by the unit members for faction play, Solaris, and Comp play. Each unit would need to “open” their garage by spending currency. Then after the initial mech bays are filled additional mech bays can be purchased to add to unit garage capacity. Ultimately the mech garage should promote unit cohesion and a sense of togetherness. Mech garage should not be available for quick play, except during special events possibly.
The mech garage would allow players with large collections to support new players and unit members. Unit members would be managed by unit leaders as to what mechs they can access from the garage through unit ranks. This feature would promote unit cohesion and reward those players that have invested in their account.
When a player checks out a mech from the garage that mech is unavailable to others, just like when a player Goes down in a match that mech Is “locked” until the mech is returned to the garage. This would preserve the financial interest of MWO by promoting that players still only have access to the same limited number of mechs.
Another feature of using the Mech Garage is the way rewards are accumulated for the pilot, the mech owner, and the unit.
The pilot would get the experience for the mech, limited currency, and titles/accomplishments/unlocks for events
The mech owner would get the majority of the currency rewards, no experience, no titles/accomplishments/unlocks from events
The unit would get a larger portion of the currency from battles than the pilot. Also new titles and accomplishments can only be unlocked when using mech garage during the described game modes
The currency rewards From battles in mechs from the unit garage would break down as follows:
1. Pilot 20% of total currency
2. Unit 30% of total currency
3. Owner 50% of total currency
