If there's an issue with the game that they are unable or unwilling to address, then it falls into the "feature" category. What you're experiencing is a "feature" of the game that disconnects you. Annoying, to be sure, but just chalk it up under everything else they've failed to address.

i have little experience with network related glitches as they seldom happen to me at all. maybe a couple times when there were some internet shenanigans going on, but those were temporary and neither pgi's nor my fault.
extending the rejoin window helps but that's a bandaid to fix a symptom, not the root cause.

I suggest those that do are riding the limits of their power supplies
Most crashes are unhandled exceptions
Shoddy programming imo

Now, some problems are obviously on PGIs end. When hitreg goes to poop, or shots to the front torsos register on the back (or vice versa)? Yeah, that's on PGI. And even if it isn't their fault, it is still their responsibility.

DX11 takes advantage of your GPU more than DX 9
Use DX11 if you have the hardware, check your power supply, Have one that runs at 80% at full load, and yo guid

its things like this that make me question whether pgi has any actual coders, because exception handlers are not hard to write at all, usually less than 10 lines. ive written thousands as just a hobbyist level coder.
also the thing about modern hardware, if your card is so old that it is compliant with cryengine circa 2013, it probably wont run the game well. when i was running the 750ti, id get the crash, before that i was running a 560, which didnt have the problem. but try running the game on that card today. the 750ti had trouble keeping up. wasnt till i got the 1060 that i could get 60fps at 1080, then moving to the 2070 super let me run 4k, and all of those experienced the fullscreen crash bug. the only card that didnt runs like a slide show.

i used to think that too. i got a stack of old psus to attest to it as well, all there because they crashed mwo. nothing is wrong with any of them though. they all passed load tests. psus in the range between 650 and 850. currently running a 600w sfx supply (dare i say its even cute), which following this line of reasoning should not work at all (its even 50w below the requirements on the video card), yet does so crash free.
the problem is power related though. video cards have power states. the video card changes this state in response to context switches (alt tabbing to another program). compared to cryengine 3, these features are fairly new and the game is ill equipped to handle them. full window bypasses the problem.
only ones who should really worry is if they bought an oem machine, and upgraded the video card. those oems only put in enough power for the stock configuration. so moving to a higher tier video card than what it was built for might be problematic.
