quad cerppc warhawk is still workable, but i cant do sustained barrage like i used to. were back to fire and hide. no more brawling with it. but the damage seems consistent.

it just mixes up my playstyle is all. going from a mobile heavy suppression playstyle to a more static peak n poke. imho, its unfunned. still a strong build, but less fun.

but honestly the biggest issue i have with the patch is that it addressed weapons that were already ok for the most part instead of the detritus that nobody uses because its crap. those are the weapons that need buffs.

examples being? (not trying to be snarky here)

I mean i know the gauss rifle is still verboten like 7 years after the gauss PPC meta, but I see almost every other weapon get used.

This game has A LOT stuff in it in so many combinations. There are builds that can take those and make those weapons work that are not bad at all. Are they top top of the line weapons no but they have a place but I'm am sure it could be made better

Racs are good.

Jump Jets certainly need to be good again but i promise you the same people will shriek about how it hurts the community to let poptarting work again, or dream up some half-baked argument about how giving jumpjets actual ups is really a nerf.

As for the 400 or so variants that are utter garbage; thats Mech balance, not really weapon balance, though the two are linked. Theres lots of mechs that are bottom of the barrel and you wont get any argument from me denying that. Might be a little more than just one patch worth of changes in that rabbit hole though

they certainly needed buffs more than ppcs did.

racs are merely ok but the spin up needs to come down a bit. a small buff but a buff none the less. they aready suffer enough from linked heat and the need for face time. especially on the 5. i tend to favor the 2 because it has just enough range to trim the incoming damage. besides gatlings don't charge, the just brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt.

jj needs a total rework imho, like vectorable jump jets. torso pitch controls jump angle. this could be done in concert with the skill tree node pruning that was mentioned.

i think they could reign in the bad mechs in under a year if they were serious about it. buff the 100 worst things every quarter with one or two follow up passes. 2 years seems more in line with pgi's capabilities though. huge buffs on base stats, huge quirks, especially hsl, those can make or break a variant, give it a niche and make it good at that niche. blanket buffs on mechs that are generally consistent across their variants to cut down on the work involved. mechs with a lot performance spread between the variants would need to be handled on a case by case basis. the only metrics you need is to check which variants get used the least, buff them and see if they turn into metas.

Gee, I never thought of that... Thank you for that wonderfully pathetic amount of insight. I never would have thought the purpose of the game was to hit your target without your amazing knowledge. I'm so glad we have such a big brain in these forums to bring us these incredible amounts of insight!

are you kidding!? What percentage of players in this game cannot move and fire at the same time? (Too high, whatever it is!)

Can you? PPC seem to be doing good damage for me and a lot of others don't take my word for it.

Its a play style difference, plain and simple. If your style is adversely affected by the patch, you call it a nerf, if it wasn’t, you don’t.

people running triple PPC builds are in anguish, yes. I never run a build like that. When I peep, I go with dual PPC and a fistful of backup weapons, so that when I have fleas in my shorts, I am never waiting on the cool down of the Peeps to scrape them off. So to me... not a nerf.

That, and some people think every change is Armageddon. (Though in the case of light gauss and MASC, they may be right.)
