Recently experienced a few Faction Play games using the Team Generator on MWO Faction Discord.

This generates teams based on their Jarls Player Score

!teams <jarls> This is a team generator command. Creates two teams using a random number generator from a list of player names.

So splits players across both teams based on (Jarls) skill.

I must say these were some of the most enjoyable games of FP I have ever played, with both teams reasonably well matched in skill, and with veterans in both sides.

Has the faction matchmaker that was being worked on in 2018 ever implemented?
this one:

Getting something like that Jarls list sorting working here would be difficult because people want to play with their units.

But can something be done, either the 2018 version or a derivation of the Jarls system?

But there IS something you can do right now, you can join the server on Discord.
The tools are there, all that is needed are people and spetially people who run these drops.

If you are streaming FP, Just ask some viewers to hop in and make a Balanced Game from there, its a great experienced for everyone.

If you have a unit and want to participate, as long as you dont mind your buddies to be split across teams, its a good way to enjoy the experience.
And if you are a solo player, join the Aussie prime time drops every tuesday night and try it.

And hopefully soon some others will get some more of these great drops going.

If you read the comments on the implementation thread, you'll all see plenty of people explaining why it is a bad system.

Thanks, was mostly curious if there was something 90% ready that they could push out for novelty.

Guess not.

At this point a bit afraid that them touching FP again will kill it for good given their track record :D

Main Prob. of FP was that you would have had to kill all Units and organize Units/Drops serverside to avoid condensation of the few skilled drop leaders/players in one faction or unit.
To apease the minmaxers, metaplayers and tryhards the comp playing mode was established....but its was too late to get anything coherent to work...game had already lost too much players.

i haven't played fp in awhile, but it seems that there seems to be a dead period right after a change, people then get over it and start playing again. people complain during the dead period, and pgi responds to those complaints with new updates after people have accepted the change. then it creates another dead period. its the very definition of a feedback loop.

i don't think it will kill the mode, not permanently.
