Why not uac20? Almost as fast and you get twice the damage for one more ton.

Also, Uac20 has a base velocity of 800 m/s, Ac20 is 900 m/s, and this build is about muzzle velocity.

I've never really been a fan of the Uac20, always preferring the dependable dunk of the Ac20. Split salvos are for clanner scum.

A bit late for the contest but yes agree the new snubs are dominating the patch so far. Everything has snubs on them now. Thinking maybe reducing heat along with increasing the ghost heat limit of mounted snubs by one was maybe a bit too much. For mechs that can mount them they are pretty much an energy ac30 with no ammo needs and when paired with gauss are very heat manageable.

If I was going to run an atlas with the new balance I'd probably go with a deadside fit like this. Also that -25% crits receiving will help keep the gauss alive if you get a backstabber or opened up. Max out the armor and crits nodes and you have a nice brawling beast.

also had something funny happen when i redeemed my Stryker pack (thats the one i selected). in my Select Mech screen the thumbnail for the standard Dragon-1G is not a Dragon but instead is a picture of Mad Cat MkII-B instead. (the rest of the mechs from the pack have the proper thumbnail)


(Edit-- it was fixed after i changed the loadout)
