Hearing the same 2 or 3 iterations of "target spotted" does become a bit mind numbing...
Introduce multiple male and female voices that you can pre-select, giving the pilot a bit of "identity."
This seems easy to implement, but could also add an extra layer of immersion.
I'm sure that if PGI didn't want to hire voice actors and reached out to the fan base there would be plenty of people willing to send in recordings of themselves doing it.
(I want to say this was done already for the current voiceover?)
Some people may say, "just use your mic," but a lot of people don't. Hell, some of the most competitive and situationally aware players I've matched with are dead quiet.
Obviously this isn't detrimental to gameplay, and would just be a quality-of-life thing.
Maybe there is lore backing the use of a single voice as if all the pilots are clones??
