It's understandable that DFA would be very difficult to add as well as melee in general. Since there is already collision detection in the game, could we please have it actually do damage to both ally and enemy mechs? It's extremely frustrating having a flea or other small light mechs stopping an Atlas from being able to move and there being no consequences to the light.

Uh...there is collision dmg in game as you should have noticed any time some impatient runrun push push dude trys to zoom right through you after startup of the match.
Also DFA situations are completely possible and are well documented in several you tube vids. (it is quite circumstantial and complete accident or random bad luck if it happens to you)
But you are quite right when you say it isn't correctly implemented and scaled.
(Mech inertia/mass/kinetic energy wise)
I myself had 3 or 4 cases of destroying an enemy damaged mech and or friendly damaged mech when jumping of a cliff down into the brawl or just getting over an obstacle accidentaly landing on a friendly mechs head.
I also got once destroyed in my catapult when a friendly phoenix hawk tried to get out of a crossfire situation missjudging his fligh trajectory and hitting my already destroyed headarmor (yelow head structure but armor was gone).

Edit: recent video added
