Are we getting the same type system in a mechlab as MW2-4 where we pick our faction emblems in mechlab and our skins and nose art? Will we be able to still import our own art into the game?Or will we get a mechlab=artlab where we can make and convert our own art into emblems we can show others?

NASCAR racing games have always been one of my favorite games why?The paint booth i could spend hours making my own paintjobs, logo's,ect and come out with some cool designs. What are some of your thoughts on what PGI will do?

I guess i should have given a example lets look at the new MW:O catapult it has house emblems with a parade yellow skin
What if i was making a merc unit and wanted a blue with silver trim skin and my own merc corp emblems?i would have to have a built in paintlab to make them then other players would have to download them before or during launch to see them.In mw2-mw4 this was caled logo transfers.you can still go into your mercs folder (content\textures\custom decals)and find what other players have made.you would have to have a transfer system for skins as well.

I heard that they mah have some form of in game custom emblam builder, but it will not be extensive. They also hinted at maybe latter they will support uplaoding custom emblams. As to how it would work? I fathom something akin to how COD black ops had a bunch of symbols of shapes you color nad place onto a layer.. custom paint? Not sure but they say it will be there.. probably wont be like painting a metal figure but more like pick pater, and color 1-4

Military units wouldn't allow NASCAR style paint jobs. Maybe a few small items to make it unique but bright flashy colors might be frowned on. Merc units may use them as advertising...who knows?

I dont hink that is his concern. Not mine either. I could care less what house davion wants me to do or will alow me to do. I want to know what hte game will alow me to do or makes possible. That and OP looks like he is going Merc, what if a merc unit has bright colors? Infact there are many player owned and canon units who have odd colored mechs. Look at the 'repaint' mechs down in the art section. Also google some after pain figurines from the TT. What is practicle is not the onlything that should be aloud as its not always fun, other wise a 4 story walking building trying to be disguised in the middle of a forest really makes no sens either...

Greenburg's Godzillas mercenary unit. They literally cover their 'mechs in NASCAR style advertisements. And they're canon.

Yeah, I basically agree with this... These are massive, massive war machines and the notion of applying camo to a "walking building", while not impractical (I've seen it done before) this is still a game in a universe with a good precedent for wild and colorful paint schemes. Therefore, we should be able to have those paint schemes (this is part of the reason why I started making those images, because I would really like to see the ability to customize skins).

Ugh... I hope we're not so limited... Really hoping they allow a huge amount of customization (including importing logos/insignia).

Personally, I'm hoping we can import our own art. I can do a lot with photoshop, and I get the feeling that the tools there would be more powerful than anything PGI could provide in-game.

Actually I love the concept of Mech noseart. That might be released in packs that they sell in the company store. As long as they are reasonably priced I wouldn't mind that. Artists got to eat too.
