Rolling around some ideas proposed in this thread, a couple things come to mind.

I think most people playing would appreciate far fewer strikes being dropped in general in-game, even after the change to strikes. I mean people are pretty much spamming them constantly, many times with poor aim just so they can use theirs before someone else does. Something else many people would like is for the light class to have a stronger role on the battlefield and for the class to have qualities that allow the average non-elite pilot to be successful contributors to their team, thereby increasing the number of players playing the least-played, least effective class.

Something that might accomplish both of these goals is allowing only lights to drop strikes, as proposed, but making them the more effective stronger strikes that existed before.

Though it would not remotely mitigate the weapon buff's nerf to lights and likely the upcoming agility pass's additional nerf to lights (unless lights get a disproportionately massive agility update) this could simultaneously make the light class seem more viable to more people while drastically reducing the number of strikes dropping on the battlefield.

Match score and damage numbers already punish the average player for playing lights, and the changes to strikes feels like another nerf to the class relative to other classes because a higher percentage of light's damage come from strikes relative to other classes. Though if we do allow every class to keep strikes and current strike spam to continue the new strike versions you Cauldron folk implemented are likely the way to go.

Maybe it's a good idea, maybe it's not, but potentially something worth considering as we find multiple ways to un-nerf what was already the lowest performing class.
