Flamers and heat aren't good as weapons, but heat and induced heat damage are still dramatically undervalued in match score. We believe the suggestions below would make match score better reflect the usefulness of adding heat to your opponents in matches.

1. If you cause a mech to take overheat damage, you should be credited for it. Specific suggestions:

1.1. If a mech takes overheat damage once you've maxxed out their heat with flamers for a certain amount of time (>=.5 seconds) you should receive credit for that damage.

1.2. If a mech loses a component due to overheat damage once you've maxxed out their heat with flamers for a certain amount of time (>=.5 seconds) you should receive credit for the component destruction.

1.3. If a mech dies due to overheat damage you've maxed out their heat with flamers for a certain amount of time (>=.5 seconds) you should receive credit for the kill.

1.4. If two or more mechs have contributed to an opponent's overheat death the mech with the last heat damage to the target should get the kill and other mechs who contributed should get assists. The mech which caused the most heat damage to the target in this situation should get a KMDD if the heat damage is higher than other damage inflicted by anyone else in the match.

2. If you destroy a mech's side torso and cause overheat damage you should be credited for it more. Specific suggestions:

2.1. If you destroy a mech's side torso when they're running a Clan XL or LFE, then that mech dies within 3 seconds to overheat damage you should be credited for the kill and they should not get a suicide penalty.

2.2. If you destroy a mech's side torso when they're running a Clan XL or LFE, then that mech takes damage within 3 seconds to overheat you should be credited for the overheat damage.

2.3. If you destroy a mech's side torso when they're running a Clan XL or LFE, then that mech loses another component within 3 seconds to overheat you should be credited for the component destruction.
