Hi MWO Community,

I have two suggestions regarding the initial spawn points. First, as an assault mech with an 48kph top speed, starting in spawn points where opposite enemy can quickly swing over and take me down is no fair advantage. While it seems in the latest patch this seems better, it still does not make for a fun start. Mechs with certain top speeds should be spawned closest to the general battle point (every map has one or two).

Next suggestion is to make a 30-second 'no weapon firing' capability (maybe 60 seconds even?). It is quite annoying to have my back armor cherry red because a friendly 'accidentally' unloads some PPCs into my back or some machine gun shells or lasers. This would also prevent bad spawn points of heavy assaults from getting obliterated so quickly. During the 30-second period, weapons would be completely disabled preventing any firing whatsoever. Would be pretty cool to see two enemy mechs facing one another, just itching for weapons to suddenly become enabled.

Bonus suggestion: Any ideas around EMP? Wouldn't it be cool to have some kind of weaponry that could temporarily disable certain weapons from firing?

Would be curious what others think (constructive responses only, please).

Put in a faster engine, or deal with the hinderances of the choice.
Mobility is a basic part of mech building. There's pros and cons to everything. And I'll exploit every con I discover.
Mechs are 3 prong... mobility, durability, strength. You trade that ratio around to suit your needs. if you find one hinders you, enhance it.

The friendly fire is annoying, but its only happened twice in YEARS of play. Maybe others have worse luck. I think that's why some maps have mechs drop facing opposite directions... which is the perfect solution IMO. Easy, and fits with simulation and lore. You wouldn't go into battle with your weapons offline, IMO. What's worse for me, is the group running into each other and causing leg damage. I pretty much avoid the group parade purely because of this.

Not possible with Annihilator & Dire Wolf ...they're forced to be stuck with a 300-Rated Engine Limit and do not get the choice to put a faster one in... and yet those two can be great weapons platforms. :)

So I'm left to metaphorically fire back at you with a question... "What are you trying to do... Force everyone by posting unkind thoughts to not ever use those two interesting Mechs at all?"... Right now, I definitely get the impression of someone trying to kill part of the game (and hurt PGI's bottom business line in the process) from your quoted thought. <_<
