There are currently not tonnage restrictions so this would happen without delay.
The matchmaker runs on the old group queue code where every group has a maximum allowed tonnage depending on how large it is. Solo players are "groups of one" with 100 tons allocated each.

Two man groups can take 100 tons each. Stick together and the teammate can make short work of any mech that gets behind the other by firing 1-2 alphas through the opponent’s CT back.
Three man groups can take an average of 85 tons each. Three Battlemasters?
Four man groups it gets a bit tricky, since it is 70 tons average. Easy answer, take a Heavy that has the firepower of an assault, the Night Gyr. They gave it away two months ago, so most people should have it. Plus, it got some mobility buffs last patch. The biggest bonus was the torso pitch from 15 to 25 degrees. Just the fourth would need to take a 55 tonner. Easily filled by a Bushy or Vapor Eagle.
OP, your suggestion seems doable.

urbie deathmatch should absolutely be a thing
I remember suggesting an Urbie only division for Solaris. If only they would figure out how to do deathmatch, we could have three divisions. 1v1, 2v2, and deathmatch. Add in Urbie 2C, and that old take up another three of the Solaris 7 so they can keep the monicker. Make the last a “flavor of the season” deathmatch. First season, Centurions?

That is not how the MM works. It has not tried to match weight class for a number of years.
It would appear you need to do better research.

To connect to if OP's dreams came true, when the Kodiak came out, we started getting 10-12 Kodiaks per game once everyone found out how extremely broken the KDK-3 with 4xUAC-10s was. Imagine the KDK with mobility quirks and no UAC-10 ghost heat (it was implemented solely because of the KDK-3.)
It was insane. Click click 80 damage. Click click 80 damage.

You have got it wrong ...
The Assault Urbie is called "Imp".

nah.. the imp is a good try to "up" the urbie - by somebody with too many resources. but you just can't beat the classics.
look at the classic beetle vs the "new" one from 25+ years ago. the same thing.
-only that our classy urbie carries anti-traffic-jam-measures on top

Instead of moaning about how there were more assaults on the OpFor than your team, everyone should just shut up and play Assaults. Ain't no one's job to make sure the OpFor is equally handicapped whenever you decide to take an inferior 'Mech.
