Ok, so I'm on my 3rd playthrough, playing career now.. and I've got some ideas for quality of life and other improvements for the game:

A.I. improvements:

1) An obvious one really - Please make the lancemates not stomp through everything.
2) Add a "long range only" command, which makes the lancemates use only their long ranged weapons, like LRMs Large lasers, PPCs, Gauss, or AC2s..
3) Add a "stomp only" command that makes the lancemates not use weapons on buildings, but makes them stomp through them
4) Add a "Retreat to dropship" command - makes the lancemates walk backwards towards the awaiting dropship, firing at enemies, but not exposing their backs like idiots.

"Quality of life" improvements:

1) Add a "repair all" button that repairs all mechs not in cold storage that don't have missing weapons or equipment. Perhapse so you can choose which mechs get repaired, just like "paint all" option.
2) Add a "save/load loadout" option
3) Improve MASC gauge to be more visible and give a better idea of how much you can use it before damage. The MWO gauge is much clearer and better.
4) "Override engaged" needs to be more visible, and taking damage from overheating also needs to be a lot more apparent. Right now, it is very easy to overlook and pop like a popcorn.
5) Add an option to move the map display to the standard MWO-like central location
6) In general, some HUD customization options would be nice.
7) Let us spin the mechs in mech lab, when not in "detail" mode
8) Mech naming
9) Let us place our Merc company's chosen logo on mechs like a decal.
10) Add "Bulk-Sell from cold storage" option, that sells all selected mechs in cold storage
11) Cool-shots, perhapse as equipment you can mount.
12) At any time in the game, only your current difficulty level of missions should be available to you, no matter where in the Inner sphere you go. It's stupid you can be rank 3 and come across difficulty 80 missions and quests.


"DLC-level improvements"

1) Add an "Escort" game mode - Escort a friendly MFB (Mobile field base) across the map, defend it.
2) Add an "Invasion" game mode - Help friendly forces destroy an orbital cannon (Like in MWO's faction play, but you know.. better). Use LOTS of units simultaneously on the field, both friendly and not.
3) Add usable mech repair bays at least during defense missions. (which would make sense)
4) Add upgrade-able dropship, with additional rooms or even a Union dropship we can call home.
5) Add more roleplay interaction with NPCs in the dropship, when out of battle.
6) Solaris 7 missions.

"Expansion-level improvements": (MUCH bigger than just a few missions - more like a whole new game really)

1) Clan-side campaign! (With choice of clan at start)
2) Inner Sphere-side clan invasion campaign!

Graphic impovements:

1) Syncronise mech's feet movement with the stomping sound both in and out of cockpit. It's silly when you're in a King Crab and it's legs are moving twice as fast in 3rd person view as when in the cockpit. This happens in most mechs. Fix it.
2) The new HOTIS biome has asteroids flying around in the sky. It's kinda silly. Remove them.

i notice they added a right click menu for selling your active mechs, i really wish cold storage had a similar right click menu.

I have read the AI prioritizes weapon groups from first to last so if you put long range weaponry in the first one or two Weapongroups they should according to that read act as long range fighters most of the time and only use short range situationally.

I am not that far in th egame bcs of technical troubles that were not game related but i got a Missile Javeling and put a LRM10 for a SRM6 into it (set to Weapon Group 1) and mostly the pilot uses it.

If this is now proof that AI works that way or the AI hase become smarter using long range weapons - time will tell.




UI - it would be nice if we could sclae the UI bcs i would like it bigger.

Override - yeah, it is to small and as i enable it when it switch my FPS Overlay on/off i already blew me up one time not recognizing Override was enabled.
Yeah, the FPS Overlay switch is CTRL+Shift+O but obviously the game only listens to O key and not multiple key combinations.

[color=#959595]I wish they would add in the ability to get a different dropship. The mech bay slots do not make sense for a leopard to carry more than 4. But in game we have 12. that should be a union or similar class of dropship. Would be cool walking around the spheres too.[/color]

[color=#959595]Clans are a big topic for a portion of the community. they don't make sense from the perspective of someone who fought thru the 3rd succession war but the timeline is close enough to tie in the clan invasion. Which was more than likely done on purpose. Could make the main character have a child that inherits the merc company like the main character does from his father so starting in 3050. Then continue it thru the clan invasion. Maybe make another player start from the clans perspective and have a character go through training and fighting in clan space to join the invasion gaining honor and rank in different clans up and thru the invasion.[/color]

  • Let us upgrade to different classes of Dropships like Overlord class, for more storage space/bays, faster travel times, etc. And utilize the dropship more in missions, its cool as hell to see the Dropship fire on things especially in hard missions.
  • Stop having "allies" in missions be already at critical damage
  • Bulk sell/buy slider or shift click for the Equipment Market
  • Tick boxes to sell multiple mechs
  • Make the Lancemates not horrendously garbage at everything, hell MW4 Mercenaries had better Lancemates
  • Honestly, just put everything from Mercs Reloaded mod and Merctech [that dont overlap] in the game, its sad that 2 modders were able to create better content than PGI for their own game. I'd rather have paid them [The modders] $20-$30 to have what looks like a complete game experience.

Ah, the dead red Allies, i have started 3 or 4 times and 1 time i managed to save that BJ in the Mission where you meet the desperate Jenner Pilot.

After the Mission was done and R. did her Monologues he Blew Up for "reasons" and the "I could have saved him" scream was played over Rs laments.

The latest start he intentionnaly stepped into enemy fire to blow up...


But wouldnt it be nice if you could coordinate a little more with your Allies when they are under your protection?

1 - Improve Co-Op though specific method needs its own topic for discussion.

2 - Change the interior part in the dropship, numerous videos justifiably criticize those times when you are in one part (Command Center or Mech Bay) and you have to do all that walking to the other, why? Why not just have the lead Tech stand in the Command Center. Every time in Campaign you have to talk to your Ops officer, you start in the Bay and have to go all the way to her, why not just put you in the Command Center with her and the Lead Tech?

3 - Just realized over a few days discussing an issue on reddit there should be a way in Demolition missions to target the entire facility to be destroyed so you can tell a lancemate to focus on that while you and other lancemates fight enemies.
Right now I can tell allies to fight 1 enemy while I destroy the facility but once they are done, they operate by AI programming that could make them make bad decisions choosing other enemies to fight or ignoring them to destroy the facility leading to mission loss.
Missions like Beachhead I can target Radar Dishes and Artillery, tell an ally to kill target while me and others fight enemies, Demolition should offer something like that, make the whole facility to be destroyed one big target I can cycle through then tell one ally to kill it. Closest I can do now is position one in a spot hoping AI programming and enemy movement does not make that one ally change to fighting Mechs and vehicles when I want that one ally destroying only thus increasing tactical choices available for the mission.

Yeah well, who wouldn't want MW to be like Battletech? I sure would. Everything BT has, is everything MW is missing and everything it should have been.
