Hello.

Simple Question:

I have already done some Missions down to the very core objctive and then retreating to the extraction point to avoid being overwhelmed.
But what is when there is no extration point yet?

Is there a way to retreat from a Mission when you see it going the wrong direction and you want to cut your losses?

Thx!

You can on PC (not sure of console method)

Hit ESC to get menu
Choose Abort Mission

I admit not sure entirely what it does, tried once but never got a good look due to frustration level. I will have to try Instant Action mission I intentionally Abort from to see full results, suggest same to you and it will not mess up any Campaign / Career you might be working on.

I haven't done it, but the game info states that it will give you bad reputation points for the faction that hired you. That might slightly reduce rewards later.

I think that the OP's question was whether you can finish some of the mission requirements then still complete the mission when there isn't an extraction point. For example, those beachhead missions where you can just capture the base, never getting rid of artillery or radar dishes while some of the assassination/defend missions only finish when you complete all of the objectives. I don't think that there's a way, because even with extraction points you need to complete a minimum set of mission requirements before the option appears-and with those other missions apparently minimum means "finish it".

Yeah, the question was meant to cover as well the technically and the implications of it bcs it is nowhere to read afaik.

The tecnically is a bit...disruptive...in regard to having the imagination of being inworld or in character at that moment and then doing something that is clearly so outworldish/ooc.

I only know so far that some missions restart at the very beginning if i fail to achieve the goal and got my Mech destroyed which is the automatic end of each Mission it seems regardless what a winning chance your Lance still would have.

Some parts of the game surely feel it little arcadeish.
