Hello every one, i been playing mechwarrior since it first came out for AOL, and then to the SNES game console system. Now watching it evolve and DE-Evolve has peeked my interest in wanting to be a beta tester for the MWO community. I remember when i first started playing mechwarrior, i was 12 years old and first got online with AOL dial up. What a pain in the Arse that was, i played mechwarrior 2 for the computer (Windows DOS-BOX) and immediately fell in love with the game and had to learn more and find ANY game mechwarrior related.

But I'm not going to bore you with my life story on how to got in to mechwarrior, what I'm actually here to ask is. Does this new community need beta testers?.. I have a lot of free time on my hands right now and would like to help the community find bugs in the game that could use fixing.

Anyway... just a thought... Thats all..

Ditto
While there might be some people that can't help with a beta for some reason, I am not sure there is anyone out here on the forums that doesn't want to be involved in the beta

Hmm, beta testing...kinda sounds like fun...something like what WoT does with thier test servers? I have thought about going on one of those but never did do it and prolly never actually will. Ofc, beta testing seems toalways have little added perks when the game comes out...in WoT's case it was a free $40 Premium Mutant 6 tank..that woulda been nice lol.

I've made games, I've supported games via tech support, I've beta tested games, and I got a pretty decent setup. I wouldn't mind beta testing again.

Oh is this the sign up to be a betta tester? and im #7? No way!

>__> no, really.. i pray there are no comunity beta testers.... i dont trust any of you! or myself.. nutural bodies who are not enamored with BT universe and can be objective and listen to the Dev's and what thier vision is would be best..

not to mention I know all of us only want to play it rather then do any real testing.

Been beta testing online games since EQ.

However as has been said I think all of us are waiting on closed beta signups.
I guess I'm odd I kinda like trying to replicate bugs and writing reports on them.

I think we are all waiting.. or have been a while.

The "next" Mechwarrior always seemed be the game that pushed the PC gaming envelope for hardware, right about the time MW5 was supposed to be out FarCry came out and took its place. Nice to see the CryEngine is what will be driving MWO.

The reason I mention this, is the MW community seemed to always be the group with the best net connection and best hardware, which in turn made us regular beta testers

I for one have Closed Beta tested about a dozen games and Alpha tested at least half of those.

Being what I am sure is one of the many BT fans from the dark ages ( Read Pre-computer 1980s' ) , I am sure just about everyone here not only wants to be a Beta tester, has the hardware and network connection to make it happen..

(FYI.. MY rig is getting older, but still handles AutoCAD MEP and REVIT 3D modeling and I am on a FiOS 15MB Connection.. just saying..)

There will be an announcement if/when there is a closed/open beta situation. While I am sure PGI appreciates the zeal with which you want to attack this game I think it best that we sit back patiently, not thump our chests about how we are all "awesome beta testers" and await The Event.
