im claiming the skill required to torso twist off most PPFLD alphas is far beyond that of your average player.

You've also claimed the average player can't aim?

If they can't aim then how is PPFLD even an problem to begin with.

Your arguments just change to suit whatever fundamentally wrong statement you've made in the past hour. Please stop.

I didnt claim that. You did. When you said the problem with light mechs is that players cant aim.

im not saying it cant be done by players possession superhuman reflexes and intuition. just that more often than not it doesnt happen.

Stop just changing your argument then acting like we're the ones getting it wrong. You said that higher agility doesn't matter because the velocity of PPFLD is apparently so extremely high that it will always hit the component no matter what, then when pointed out how wrong that is you change it to how the average player is apparently too bad to twist and how it doesn't matter because the pugs are crap therefore agility buffs bad.

The former was factually wrong and the latter is you projecting your low skill level and inability to use skill based mechanics onto the entire playerbase.

test it then.

go into testing grounds and aim a 2500m/s gauss at a mech from 810m away

see if you can twist it off before it hits your CT.

Thus while PPFLD is pinpoint it can end up anywhere on the 8 frontal areas and 3 rearward areas depending on mech orientation.

Depending if PGI servers decided 2xGauss will reg into your rear today lmao

also this thread is talking about assault mechs anyway

assault mechs certainly arnt torso twisting off PPFLD from gauss

Ye only some of them can turn 360 degrees in 2 seconds.

B-but the Victor is a 80 tonner! Not a real assault!

the victors torso twist is not typical of your average assault

you picked the best case scenario rather than an average example

and even your best case scenario doesnt guarantee the gauss still doesnt hit the victors CT. a third of a second only gets you a 42 degree torso twist. so the CT is still visible at that angle.

And you picked Gauss as yours?

You can't possibly claim issue at that man.

Your denial won't change the fact that you're wrong again.

ok lets pick AC20 the slowest ballistic weapon possible

ac20 has a 1000m/s velocity with buffs and a 270m optimum range

that gives you 270m/1000m/s = 0.27 seconds even less time to torso twist

How about the Atlas? Or most of the Banshee, Charge, Hatamoto, Cyclops, Highlander, Kodiak (apart from the 3), Executioner, Gargoyle, Zeus. All with at least 90°.

all im saying is you cant torso twist enough in the given timeframe to guarantee the shot doesnt hit the CT.

Lets look at this logically, how many people have said "yes you can" and how many have said "no you can't"? Hm.

Maybe with such a majority on one side the issue lies with the player and not the mechanics?

im afraid its not wrong.

Ill even use the AC20 example because its the slowest ballistic

it takes 0.27 seconds for an AC20 to hit you from 270m away with a 1000m/s velocity

Well even use the best case example of the victor. it can torso twist 126 degrees per second

1/0.27 * 126 = 34 degrees of rotation in .27 seconds

A victor that rotates 34 degrees still has its CT visible

The fact that your CT moves 34 degrees to side definetly doesn't mean it will hit your torso instead right? That's how geometry works.

Please include full mobility skills if we are already talking maxed values.
