By the numbers it seems to me more difficult to get a positive PSR for light pilots.

It's really not that different IMO. I jumped two tiers in the last week, after restarting at 5, exclusively in light mechs (and mostly 20 tonners).

Also, why do you want to move up in tier anyway? Are you having too easy of a time in the tier you are in? Tier = game difficulty. What you are saying boils down to "the game is slower to automatically increase the difficulty for light pilots."

Hi @GoodTry,

my initial post was mainly about to understand the current PSR system better. Your quote is a reply to a later topic regarding the possibility of carrying a team as light mech player. But as others said before already there seem to be excellent light mech players out there who have no problems with it. I just dropped from tier 3 to 4 and have no problem with the tier nor the current PSR rating system. I just need to get used to it Posted Image.

If you are, actually, carrying a team. You are not going down, ever.

False.

Whenever i get a x6 or higher on game modes, i pop in a light and go for conquest. Just yesterday, I hopped in my little Osiris, won the match, damn near solo, as my team mostly all got murdered by the enemy... and I had all 4 outer caps under control. Won the match, did circa 100 damage, last man standing.

PSR go down.

ASH means carrying a team in the sense of the fight. no one refers to snagging capture points as "carrying the team." That's just capping, regardless of what the victory conditions might be.

Capping is worth very little in the way of PSR, as you have noted above and as I and others have brought up as an issue to Cauldron. It has gotten no traction, do not expect it to be addressed. If you want to skill up, ignore the capture points and shoot stuff.

Sounds like your team played well enough to delay the enemy in an 11v12 fight to win the match. Good on them.

The PSR system is just helping to guide you towards a skill level with other people that prefer to stand in squares rather than shoot things.

Ill add my learnings here after playing a couple of days as solo mostly medium range med/hvy laser/dakka player from the perspective of a returnee.

* use radar deprivation (this lrms can be pesty)
* use survival tree maxed out (helps you to stay longer in game)
* regarding skills there are some basic configs on meta mechs which can help you to get an idea what makes sense
* lookup grimmechs to get an idea about actual builds (maybe you need to rebuild your old mechs)
* if you want to hold your current tier use mechs/builds your are used too or good with
* look out for snipers, or move all the time in coverage
* if you are not a competitive player within a active clan accept to win/loose 1-1

Also i feel its good to actually stop the game when failing n- times in a row. Helps again frustration and stay motivated to come back to the game Posted Image.
