yeah unless you want to get stomped over and over i wouldn't bother with FP. unless you are part of one of the larger Units. solo dropping in FP is a waste of time. (i know the potential of getting some free mech bays is enticing but its not worth the frustration.) not sure if it has changed any but back when i used to play some FP it was full of meta try hards that would toss a royal hissy fit if you had a build or mech even slightly sub-meta.

That pretty cuts me out of everything, one of the joys of this game for me, and the other titles, MW5 is the ability to customize the mechs. Did this work, oh that really sucks, lets put a few more heat sinks on drop the large laser and add a tick more armor here and here....try again. I can drop two tons of engine and only loose 1 kph....deal. This is the fun to me. I don't think I have one stock mech.

To the poster that said it takes skill for LRM use....not in my limited experience, this seems a very easy way to do damage, and get 4 of your team shooting missiles you are going to be hurting. Just last night there was a stealth mech run up on a ridge behind the other team, turn off the stealth and they are all there.....missiles flew like mad on the called targets and they did not last long. Seems being 3-4 down is a hard thing to recover from.

as for LRM skill that example is when there is some coordination. most matches the LRM mech is on its own. just about any build is easier to use when the team is working well together. also you had 4 LRM boats. if coordinated they can cut through any AMS but if you have just one its harder. the skill in LRM is not so much in the weapon (though it does sometimes take some skill in keeping your crosshair in the tiny lock area while on the move) as it is in you positioning and tactics. its a whole nother line of thinking over direct fire weapons. yes they are easier than other weapons but that doesn't mean they are no skill. they really shine when the te4am is working together and fall off quickly when they are not. also as you go up in Tier (IE going up against more skilled players) it becomes harder since most people learn how to avoid LRM fire.

Fp is great. But there is next o no mm and a lot if experienced players and or groups around in specialised builds. As a minimum requirement I suggest one full tonnaged extreme long range deck and one full tonnaged mid range deck. For further details is can suggest yondus fp guide (more a list of mech builds). Use what ever u want, but u will not have much fun/ success with a bracket build vs the usual 50+ alpha meta. Just be prepared, If u drop solo u will loose 19 out of 20. With more xp u might get this more in the range of 10/20 but therefore your dmg needs to average in the 2k region.

Sounds bad? Get in touch with other players. In return u will get better match ups and 0 rotation

just be very selective what Unit you try to join, it has been my experience that the vast majority of them can be very toxic to anything other than another meta try hard
