besides the fact its a mech related topic, i find it very amusing that something so harmless would offend you so deeply.

A lot of people have posted here about Mechcommander, and im simply letting them know where we play the game these days.
As the Mechwarrior admins keep banning such a harmless thing by posting the mechcommanders website for people, i see no other choice.

If looking for people to play an old mech game with is advertising and a ban able offense I fear mechwarrior online's population is going to drop dramatically. I see tons of posts of ppl looking for others to play mechwarrior 4 or ect... With them while they wait for beta to open. Then again you are from house Liao which is known for it's devious tactics and hidden agenda hmm...

It's not that he posted the link here, but that he had to do it in private message as well (where he posted nothing but the link). If he had just posted here, I couldn't have cared less.

Looking for players to play with is fine. Blatant advertising is not!

As I already said:

I have no problem with him posting it here. If he had done nothing more, I would have never reported him.

But...

He is a first time poster, registered today. Advertising his Website, which is nothing but a forum with some attached files for download, in the Forum and in private messages. If he were interested in MWO he would have read the Forum rules and the attached code of conduct and would have found another way to advertise for MechCommander (a game I love, btw). He would not have needed to send out private messages that contain nothing but the link to his website, not even the text he posted here.

The rules to the MWO forum are there for a reason and very clear ont the matter. Ridiculing me, doesn't change their existence or wording.

I dont see how this is advertising.
The only thing I can see is that his should be in the off topic section of the forums rather than here, since this section is for general MWO discussion.
But that is all I can point at, worst case a mod will move it to off topic and leave it at that.

As for private messages thats a different matter, but since I can only see my own private messages I cannot say if the guy has been spamming PMs or not.
