Is it worth spending the 25 points it would take to get max speed tweak on a Cougar?

On light mechs in general, sure - as long as you play them to maximize the amount of time you stay on the move.

That will dictate a bit of yes or no.

The sad truth is you have to consider it mandatory on Assaults and certain Heavies to get better mobility that makes a significant difference in performance especially now when Heavies are the most popular choice.

Lights and Mediums it helps but is not mandatory.

COU-PRIME This is the current build I decided on. Previously I was running a pair of LRM 15s along with quad Mediums.

Speed tweak definitely not worth I don't think. Lot of investment.

I would run something like THIS SKILL tree. It leaves you some points to put where you want. Be that consumable, more survival etc.

Also ERML and SRM don't sync that well. SRM6 also have large spread without Artemis. So I've whacked another build together for you COU-PRIME. A little better synergy and also taking off Laser AMS. L-AMS costs you about 3-4 heatsinks of dissipation, it's pretty expensive in that regard unless you focus on it. It will also give away your position with the ECM, which you kinda dont want

MPL and SRM4 is better burn time and less missile spread for similar damage.

Give it a crack.
