With all the quirk changes going on patch to patch, it would be really, really nice if we didn't have to go to the Mech Store to view the base quirks on Mechs we're working on, instead of the fully fleshed out skill tree stats that appear as a sea of green text. Heaven help you if your skill tree has ammo buffs, since every ammunition type known to man is included in that instance.

I'd settle for a deeper shade of green, ffs. Just do something to differentiate the base stats from those earned through pilot skill purchases.

People have been asking this for years, but without success.

Ditto for OmniPod quirks.

The quirk list and how it is shown needs a full overhaul... categorizing, color coding, showing irrelevant items (see ammo quirks for weapons you don't have equipped)

Once they get engineering resources... that's one of the important items IMO.

This has been a feature request since about as long as the Skill Tree existed:

You are right.

I always laugh when I see two dozens of ballistic weapon quirks on UrbanMech, even though it is not armed with ballistic weapons currently.

I would love to see to some kind of toggle switch: Show all quirks / Show relevant quirks only.
Something like the existing Ammo toggle: Show all ammo / Show ammo for equipped weapons only.

That too has been a feature request since the skill tree was added XD

i like that, grey out anything you aren't using. would help me at a glance find mechs that do not utilize their quirks very well. very useful and nice to have in lieu of all the cauldron changes.

color codes for quirks by type, survivability white, agility blue, weapon specific quirks in purple/yellow/green to match weapon type. generic weapon quirks in orange, heat quirks in red. dark versions for quirks not used, black or very dark grey for disabled quirks (unused set of 8). then have separate categories for skill tree, base quirks, quirks from other sources, and combined quirks as a separate drop downs.

really thins is like a couple hours of ui work here.

"A couple of hours of work"? This is PGI you are talking about.

When they introduced the new UI, they needed weeks (or months?) to implement basic features such as filtering out Trial 'Mechs or marking up favorite 'Mechs.

thats the meme isnt it. i think that when a decision is actually made and funds allocated, things get implemented fairly quickly. its either 'maybe later' or 'we dont have the funds' or "im not sure thats the direction we want to go". but when the management sayd "ok do it, here is the budget, here is your deadline." it actually gets done.

pgi had repeatedly demonstrated they have the ability to do ui work when they want to. i meant its not rocket science. were talking, add controls for a couple dropdown boxes, populate it with this data, format the text for the color coding, done. they just have to want to get it done. when the boss says get it done, it usually gets done.

i might admit that "a couple hours" is quite optimistic. a day or two maybe, and if were really inept a couple weeks. but if we were using a ui suite that i was familiar with, and a code base that i was familiar with, a couple hours is all it would take.

Ha! how many years did it take them to fix the load screen tip about torsos typo? Change color! HA! They can't even find an old road map much less keep up with one.

Dammit, I nearly fell out of my chair laughing at this comment.

We're living in a dream-world if we think we'll get anything approaching a color-coded system for the quirk listing. I intentionally set the bar low by requesting a different shade of green for the base stats. Honestly, I feel this game is some low-hanging fruit away from fantastic, but those little changes never seem to materialize. It feels we've been talking to a wall for eight years, even though I'm sure our comments and suggestions get read by staff.

I wholeheartedly agree with this change. Having to go to the Shop just to see the base quirks ... oh wait, well there's your reason why this hasn't been done yet. They want us in the Shop. Posted Image
