For anyone that has 50+ variations or have repeats of the same chassis and still are unsure what to play for the grind:

https://pickerwheel.com/

1) Choose your top 15 favorite mechs or most played variations

2) Spin Das Wheel

3) Get jumpscared by loud browser music (jk)

4) Field whatever mech the wheel has chosen, rinse and repeat after each quickplay match

This has helped me tremendously so I don't burn out fielding the same mech while grinding. PGI add this as an in game feature kthxbye.

And here I thought the advice would be "sell them all, start from scratch" ^_^

I did something similar allready with an RNG. Nowadays I pick a random starting point of mechs I still need to skill and then play the mech until I got my first win. Then switch to the next mech in line and play that until the first win.
Sometimes I play a mech several times, sometimes only once.

Gives me enough variaty for my little sessions.

ive given thought to making a non-pokemechs account with only metamechs, or at least builds ive done well with. its in the same bin as my joystick only account. but too much grind for that.

lately, i mostly just run the least used mechs in my collection. i mean i can and have run the preferred builds to death. no sense to own mechs and never run them, even if they are bad.

HBS Battletech's feature of putting unused mechs into deep storage would be useful for this, and would improve front-end load times too.

Oh a cold storage, thats something I would also like.
Well till then I am using the "favorite" option to reduce number of mechs shown.

Since the game shows mechs ready I just strip every thing off the ones i'm not using and favorite the ones I am using. Probably save time if i kept the aux and armor on my mechs instead of re-equip everything.

i got enough stuff in my warehouse where all my mechs are fully equipped. properly equipped, that's an entirely different matter.

Yes, I do this too. Once I have a mech equipped and skilled I click the favourite button so it can get loaded into the cargo bay of the dropship. I am aiming to have one mech of each chassis ready to counter any threat to the FWL.

All the FWL needs is an Orion. The swiss knife of the FWL ^_^
Or if you prefere the more modern version then take a Perseus...one of the mechs I miss but we will likely never see in MWO because its an IS omni. Damn it why no IS omnies? Tech is now so "balanced" that it shouldn't be a problem for the IS to have Omnimechs too. Clan also has standart mechs so what?

Frankly standart mechs are much more "advanced" then omnimechs if you ask me, because they have less fixed equipment over omni mechs. How many times I have an omni where I wish I could change some fixed equipment.
To me the entire Omnitech is a step back because the standart mechs where given so much freedom of costumization. That is why I actualy find the MW5 system interesting...also there is also room for improvements.

I'm another pilot with over 300 mechs, I never have a problem knowing which one or several to play for a night. I've got about 80 of each weight class and know what they're all good and bad at, and what kind of play style I'm in the mood for. Relying on some program to dictate what I drive seems a bit silly.
