Remember when it was a thing that ECM was only ever in the LT of early 'Mechs? So's everyone knew what to shear off?

Have you yet gone back over those early units and maybe revise the locations?

… Maybe give two locations, but only allow one to be filled?

Or just make ECM a piece of equipment like BAP: No hardpoint required. Stick it anywhere it will fit. Go nuts.

Why only allow one to be filled? It is unlikely anyone would want to waste the tonnage putting on two ECMs if there's no benefit to doing so, unless they are really afraid of losing their ECM.

This is even better.

Taking it further, why not just treat ECM like heat sinks, except additional ECMs gives no benefit, so people would normally only ever put one on.
