Can we please, PLEASE change the TAG lasers to work as equipment in the weapons list like ECM AMS and Stealth Armor and have a dedicated keyboard shortcut to toggle on and off all TAG lasers equipped on a mech at the same time and leave them on?
Please?
Like, with all the buttons inside a mech cockpit console, there has to be at least one that toggles on and off laser rangefinders without the pilot having to keep a button pressed the entire time.
This is something that should have been implemented in the game before it exited beta stage, yet for some reason it still isnt there.
I cant believe that devs just simply do not care about basic QoL features like this one.
And no Im not using some shady non digitally signed third party macro software to do what the developers should have done long ago and Im not jamming a coin into my mechanical keyboard keys neither.

I understand how you feel about this one, 'ScaZz', as I have also had times when I wish for making the TAG be a toggle control instead of requiring manual hold of a key or other button allocated to the task. Perhaps they could potentially make it operate as both? Basically, all it would require is being able to set up this toggle along with the normal Group Allocation at the same time, so that players have a choice of whether they're doing hold-to-use like things are now and/or being able to toggle like AMS/ECM/Stealth/etc. systems that operate the other way. Essentially it would be similar to Arm Unlock and its' functionality, as that is able to operate both ways, instead of being limited to just one way or the other only.

In short, you have my SUPPORT on this, but with the well-defined desire to make it operate via both toggle AND hold-to-use manners. B)

They have the technical know how (assuming its not disappeared with one of the programmers) to have a toggle ability, just look at the "Arm Lock" mechanism . . .

Let's calm down a bit here; no need to use so many buzzwords to hate on the devs. This isn't a basic quality of life feature.

You shouldn't be having your tag on all the time, as it gives you and your allies positions away. We're already dealing with players not pressing the R key to lock targets, and I don't want to have my ECM covered flank be spotted because a pilot who can't set up proper firegroups has his laser pointer on constantly.

The player is responsible for at least some of the control of the game. Learn to use the firegroups.

TAG lasers do not stack as far as I am aware. You should not have more than one TAG laser on your mech.

Pretty much this.

I will not count how many times some fool with his "Always-on" TAG attracted enemies to my position, because he could not have been bothered to turn it on only when he actually needed it ...

Those people are forgetting that TAG can be seen on some maps on hundreds of metres, often practically across the battlefield (if we are talking about the effectively used area of some maps).
