Download and run CPUID Hwmonitor while playing.

Did you have fun with the CPU heatsink Posted Image ? Nephew was running one and he said he was clearing out the dust build up but there was still 1/4 inch that LOOKED like part of the heatsink but wasn't . As long as CPU is running cool, the above tool will also be able to tell if the CPU is dropping in speed or now.

Again, what is your running FPS? FPS would always be better on the Test Grounds due to no overhead loading the other 23 players and connection to game servers. At the moment with that video, it would appear to be running at a very low FPS
  • If Windows is allowed to update drivers, esp GPU drivers, that can furbar things.
  • Check Windows Update history to see what else has been installed.
  • May try rolling Windows back an update.
  • What GPU driver is installed? Uninstall and reinstall. Also, newest drivers are not always best. May need to do a uninstall and install an older driver. Check for when GPU was updated, may try to roll back the driver
  • Running DX 11 or DX 9?
  • Run the MWO Repair Toolkit and check everything. Reinstall can be done but I doubt it would resolve what appears to be a low/tanking FPS issue.

Running at 5-6 fps in testing grounds.

Could you also run a benchmark

https://www.userbenchmark.com/Software

Click "Free Download" in yellow.

Take a screenshot of the results and post here, it'll tell us if it's a problem with your computer.

Ekk. Do as Nightbird asked.

And since you had notated no previous issues before.. when was the last time you had played MWO without the low FPS?
  • system's Power Options, set to High Performance
  • If Geforce Experience is installed, are you using its MWO profile? I would suggest not to.
  • Using any overlays? Disable them
  • Installed any MWO mods? Disable/remove them.
Adding these back.
  • This is important. Check Windows Update history to see what else has been installed.
  • This can be a later step based on the info above. If ya have questions about it just ask. = May try rolling Windows back an update.
  • ?? What GPU driver is installed? Uninstall and reinstall. Also, newest drivers are not always best. May need to do a uninstall and install an older driver. Check for when GPU was updated, may try to roll back the driver
  • Which? Running DX 11 or DX 9?
  • Done? - Run the MWO Repair Toolkit and check everything. Reinstall can be done but I doubt it would resolve what appears to be a low/tanking FPS issue.
Removed additional comments.

Random stupid question... but since I did not happen to see anything previous about this and/or missed something... Have you lowered your Graphics Settings to extremely low settings? Have you tried turning down the game's screen resolution? I noticed how old your processor is, and realized that the poor thing may be getting pushed way too far. :o

I used to run this game with an AMD Phenom II 965 quad-core overclocked by about 10%, with a factory-overclocked MSI GTX460. I had the smoothest performance running it on medium graphics settings, but I was able to turn some stuff up to high (which of those settings I can't remember now, was years ago). I overhauled my tower a few years ago changing to an Intel system with a i5-6600k (not overclocked) and a factory-overclocked GTX760 and I can run the game on mostly high settings comfortably, and at cooler temperatures!

For reference, the Phenom II 965 is about 7% slower than the FX-6350.

Prob one of the ram sticks is lowering it's frequency "latency." I would check each stick, just incase. Just like a spark plug in a V8 engine losing it's spark.
