Also at those times 60-70% of whole playerbase was tier1 so matchmaker didn't work that well. From what ASH wrote end of last Year or so now it is other way around T5-3 is some 80-90% of playerbase.

If you don't like the Tier system, you do have the option to disable it from appearing on the Home screen. That's what I did, because I honestly do not care about what tier I'm in. I just want to pilot a giant car stomping robot and go blast limbs off of other robots. Any red I detect is a target, I don't care what their tier is.

As for the forums, I don't care what anyone tiers is either. They can be T1 down through to Tier 5, if they're a toxic jerk, that's how I base my opinion on them. Everyone's tier means nothing to me.

I leave the stressing about tiers to those that want to stress over it. Just because it exists does not mean you're forced to go with meta jank in order to climb the ranks. load up that mech with whatever weapons you want and go have fun!

I always get a giggle when Tier 1 people talk to people not in Tier 1 and say things like

"don't worry, if you'll improve, you'll get there!" and "keep grinding! don't think about it too much!"

Tier 1 isn't some magic holy land. You get there and say "wow that was pointless, these games are the exact same"

Not only that, but everyone in T1 is either a grumpy sod who doesn't use voice comms, or an irritating streamer who got carried by groups. God, it's grizzly up here. Stay with the LRM Fleas and bracket build Atlai, I say!

Tiers matter, as they matter in RL.

Not that is is ALWAYS good. The human greed pervert the good part of Tiers/Ranks/Levels etc.

But they have a propose and also in games:
Separating the different skill levels for best performance.

I am PISSED of losing a match by idiocy: was pissed of in T5 and am more in T1.
I am toxic to my team, as I want the best and they also, so we all DESERVE the best in a GAME to have fun!

Tiers MATTER and the more we invest on it and PGI makes it accurate, the better player-base you get, as they will nearly get what they can handle in matches.

After quitting to WoT 3-2 years before I was angry at the MM. In WoT they have nrealy a better system, but you see suddenly when a low tier gets in high tier and you lose soddenly.

What does not work in WoT, will work for MWO as here you are not a 2 hit die Vehicle!

And what I see in T1 is sometimes more frightening than in T4-T3.

There you expect the noobness. But in T2-3, nascaring, inactivity, bad blind builds, no scouting, THESE are the things you should be worry about, as these Tiers should be or reflect the reason, why one is there and not.

And except me, and a very few, all the T1s I see are polite and not even angry when losing (wonder how!?!) but that's the "personal touch". You don't know if they are the same way in RL to others. Being angry to ppl online is better than in RL, my view and living.

So despite being unfairly handled by the MM and Tier-System - which I would accept if you mind that in your posts - I can not tolerate your mails to be the icon of wisdom, and I am a Socialist at heart who does not likes Tiers .... and there I am to defend them !!!

I suppose you can see my post as junk, that's on you. I really don't care what your opinion of my post is.

Personally I don't give a soggy sod about the tiers. If others do, that's fine with me. I play to have fun and I simply do the best I can. Whether that puts me in T5 or T2, I'll never know.

If you want to worry about who has what tier levels you're teamed with that match, you go right ahead. Sure, I guess they have a purpose, if you care about tiers and being competitive. I'm just willing to play anyone the game puts on the opposite team, and not try to treat someone as a lesser because they are a 'lower rank' than myself for whatever reasons they're there. You never know, they may be Tier 1 material, but they get interrupted frequently and have to walk away. Who can say?

So yeah, if you wanna worry about tier system, you do you. But you can't push that on others that simply want to ignore it.

So, do tiers matters? Yes to those that worry about that kind of stuff, no to ones that think like me. What matters in each case is, how does it matter to the individual player?
