I feel like either the torso hit box is huge or it's just lacking something other assaults have. I have over 120 armour to the front with the upgraded armour but if anything even looks at it, it turns red, I twist etc to spread damage but I don't know it just doesn't seem to hold up very well. I'm going to be getting a Marauder IIC soon so I can probably compare better, but it's disappointing it doesn't feel that tanky.

Is The Warhammer Iic Fragile?

Its hitboxes aren't too bad, actually, but it does have that little stomach bulge allowing people to hit the CT easily from the sides. Despite that, you can torso twist to roll damage on it fairly well...

Its agility isnt that great which is why it might feel like its easy to focus a component, but then again, many other assaults share this problem. 120 armor is also deceptively low, my hellbringer can do around 130 damage in 2 shots, and assaults can do over 200 in around 10s. There are even some brawlers that can even kill you through your front CT in 2 shots when you are fresh (albeit those tend to be meme builds with little use outside of screwing around or backstabbing).
Basically you need to stay moving, and twist around at least some between alphas. Its a bad mech for facetanking since the hitboxes are easy enough to isolate and its only a 85t mech which means its not much more raw armor then a timby, a mech that is arguably tankier due to the agility buff it recieved. I have the free hero that was given away ages ago, and i turned it inot a quad ppc boat that is ideal on the second line or for sniping. I would not reccomend any facetanking builds on this mech due to hitboxes, and i would not recconemd brawling in it either.
As for the mad2c, its a very solid mech but it has a different problem where its STs tend to fall off easily when flanked (its near impossible to miss the side profile even with spread weapons like SRM/LBX. As for variant, the base model is the best for laser vomit (and suprisingly 5-6ERLL builds). One of the strongest ranged mechs i can think of though profile wise, and pretty good with deadsided dakka too albeit that is a risky playstyle since a smart player will take off ur RT on the A or C versions

I was using UAC10s and ERPPCs, but I've swapped to LBX20s and 2LPLs and kind of doing better, but still got issue with my chest. I got the hero and the base Marauder IIC, I like them a lot, preferring them over the warhammer atm.

Panzer is spot on with the Agility. I think its most glaring weakness is poor accelleration (17ish if i recall) and its torso yaw is less than 90 degree.
In a game with laser durations and multi slug agility is armor.
If its acceleration was buffed to like 22-26 and its torso yaw to 95 degrees. The mech would become so much stronger.

I'd argue that it is. I think PGI wanted the mech to be a long range fire support mech, and I never see anyone treat it as a brawling mech out in the field. It could use some agility buffs and perhaps some internal structure buffs from the Cauldron.
