We got the tech in the game, but not the variants for the following:
Supernova 2 and Supernova 4
As well as the Hunchback IIC 2 and 3 variants. Which co-currently is the following variants
Hunchback IIC-A (Current event `Mech) and B
Supernova A and B variants.
Seriously, we have the Heavy Lasers and Advance Tactical Missiles in the game. So when can we expect the changes to these `Mechs??

There's no real point in renaming the existing variants because at the end of the day they got the same hardpoints.

Allow me to correct you
Hunchback IIC - A : RT- 3 Energy / LT- 3 Energy / CT - 2 Energy
Hunchback IIC 2 aka "Swayback" : RT - 2 Energy / LT - 2 Energy / CT - 2 Energy
As one can clearly see, both variants do not have the same amount of hard points. Furthermore, the Supernova 2 and B, are also not the same,
Please note that the Supernova 2 has only energy hardpoint each in either arm. While the A has two in either arm. Missile hardpoints on each are the same, 2 each in either torsos.
That's all I'm saying.

... those particular versions you want do either have the same hard points or (in 2 cases) have a smaller subset of the hardpoints that the already existing variants have - thus you being able to replicate loadouts for those non-existant variants with the existing ones - what will the exact benefits of introducing those other variants be?

Which - at least to me - isn't really that much beyond "I want another variant for the sake of having its loadout under a canon variant name." ~shrug~

Allow me to enlighten you.
This game has a phenomenon known as "hardpoint inflation". See how in every case the original variant you list has its hardpoint count increased for the variants in game? This is done for balance, but the mechs are intended to be the same. There is no need to rename the variants, or release new variants that have less hardpoints, because they are directly obsolete on arrival.

Well, if that's the case, then PGI should've waited to add the weapons in question, and then added the Hunchback, Marauder, and Supernova, and any other `Mech variants that rely upon those systems for gameplay. In my opinion, it was a stupid move.
