Hi,
What exactly does the general "Cooldown" quirk do?
I used my CTF-IM to calculate cooldowns and it kinda seems that the general "Cooldown" does nothing,
IM has the following cooldown quirks:
Energy Cooldown -15%
Ballistic Cooldown -10%
Cooldown -12%
Say my skill tree gives me 12% cooldown as-well.
Ok now I loadout an AC10 and i get:
AC10 Cooldown: 2.25 sec (-0.495)
Meaning the sum of all quirks + skill tree amounts to -0.495 seconds cooldown bonus.
Lets make the calculations to see how that is:
2.25 * [Quirk of Ballistic Cooldown] = 2.25 * 0.1 = 0.225
2.25 * [Quirk of General Cooldown] = 2.25 * 0.12 = 0.27
2.25 * [Skill Tree Cooldown] = 2.25 * 0.12 = 0.27
Which means total cooldown bonus should be:
0.225 + 0.27 + 0.27 = 0.765
but 0.765 is not 0.495 as the game shows me....
so lets try to get to 0.495:
0.225 + 0.27 = 0.495
what the heck? so were missing 12% cooldown bonus... its not the skills tree, if remove skills tree completely i only get 10% cooldown bonus and that is from the ballistic quirk.
And so it seems that general Cooldown quirk doesnt do anything.
Well maybe its for energy weapons then?
nope.
LPPC cooldown: 3 sec
load it into the mech and you get:
3 (-0.81)
so lets get to 0.81:
2.25 * [Quirk of Energy Cooldown] = 3 * 0.15 = 0.45
2.25 * [Quirk of General Cooldown] = 3 * 0.12 = 0.36
2.25 * [Skill Tree Cooldown] = 3 * 0.12 = 0.36
total cooldown bonus should be:
0.45 + 0.36 + 0.36 = 1.17
but again:
1.17 > 0.81
so how do we get to 0.81?
0.45 + 0.36 = 0.81
once again, general cooldown does nothing.
What's going on here, what am i missing?

Pretty sure you are counting the 12% bonus twice since its not a base quirk. If you have all the cooldown nodes unlocked its going to be reported in the expanded stats tab in the mechlab as Cooldown.

CTF-IM hasn't 'general' cooldown.
only ballistic cool and energy cool.
so -0.495 is correct. because ballistic cool 10% + skill tree cool down 12% = 22 % cooldown(ballistic)

The "Cooldown" 12% that you see on your perks list come from your skilltree nodes. You are counting it twice in your consideration.

https://mwo.nav-alph.../mechlab/ctf-im is good site to check quirks and stuff, ingame skilltree+quirks list is total mess.
I'm not sure if coder of this site intends to add skilltree to this also so it would calculate "real" values.

mech quirks should be color coded, why the hell they are not?
