I want to start off by saying that I realize that MWO has a very busy small team working on it right now and that they have been dishing out patches every month, even if they are mostly just tweak patches. So I understand that results cannot be expected immediately.
It would be amazing if Faction Play, or the concept of Faction Play could be revived. Especially since it is currently the only mode where you can get more than 3 other friends in a group together.
Remember when we were promised map conquest and planetary takeovers, earning MC for your unit, essentially a lot of incentives to actually play the game mode?
As it is, Faction Play is fairly dead right now, with those 1 or 2 units who will drop a 12-man on weekends and earn some free Cbills against a group of pugs. Back when FP was actually popular, this still would happen and I know that particular issue was addressed multiple times; separate group and solo queues were suggested but of course that isn't very effective with a low player-base. One solution to this could be to make Faction Play group queue only which shouldn't be too hard with the existence of LFG and Discord and the fact that so many MWO players know other MWO players anyway.
In summary, Faction Play could be considered the "Endgame" content of MWO, which on other games is the sort of content that people spend the most time on - and I don't mean searching in a queue. It could also be another source of monetization if more features were introduced and more attention was given to it.

It does seem that with a small team and a small player base, there are limitations on what can happen, but I do miss playing faction (which I've really only done as one of the hapless pugs or as a late night draftee when any warm body gets pressed into service).
Maybe smaller faction games would help. Larger changes aside, I mostly just wish that when a "call to arms" popped up, there was a reasonable chance I would end up in a game fairly quickly, even 5-10 minutes wouldn't be too bad, even if it was just to get kicked around a bit.
