I wonder if one play with a group then what determines the tier of players in the matches?
The tier of the group's leader?
The lowest tier of the group members?
An average of the group members' tiers?

We assume its average based on how groups have been observed to fit into matches, but PGI has never outright said how it works so its not 100% sure. Very probable by now since behiaviour does seem to fit the group tier being averaged from its members.

I think highest tier of members might be better than average.

This exactly. Experience tells that the group's PSR rating is averaged for matchmaking purposes and we have no official word on that.

I also support that it should be adjusted slightly more towards the higher PSR members of any group.
