I remember there was this VIP mode where you had Team Morpheus vs Team Agent Smith. On Team Morpheus, one guy would play as Neo for that round. It was a very fast-paced affair, as within 1 minute or so you'd either get Neo to the pay phone so he could escape, or Neo would be dead. IIRC, during each round, Team Agent Smith had infinite respawns, while members of Team Morpheus would not respawn.
Then it'd switch to another player to be Neo in the next round. Repeat until everyone has had a chance to play as Neo, and then the two sets of players switch sides, so that the guys previously playing as Agent Smith would now play on Team Morpheus.
You might be able to duplicate such a game mode with Mechs, with the Assassination Team having respawns and the Escort Team not having any respawns. But the problem is that MWO is definitely not fast paced, so instead of finishing a game like this in 24 minutes (1 minute each round, with every player on both sides having a chance to be VIP), it'd instead end up taking like 168 minutes (7 minutes per round, 24 rounds).

Let's remember that there are people who *don't* pay a shred of attention to the game mode and its' conditions. Cue VIP suicide-rushing enemy firing lines or staying in the drop zone for the whole match to try farming damaged opponents at the end...

The mode itself was super awful. If you can find some friends it still works in private lobbies afaik.
Also worth noting the game doesn't really have AI like that.

Shouldn't be Incursion better for an FP mode than QP? Incursion could be partly an escort but not fully, instead a big mix of CTF + escort + domination\conquest with lots of mobile engagements (if objective accomplishment would be rewarded over sheer "Ima killya all" stuff)...

wha-oh wait its a 2022 post, I thought someone necroed an old pre-escort game mode implementation thread. I dont think a non NPC VIp can work in this mode without new vehicle models, or building a game mode that would work instead of follow the big target atlas with 300 tons of armor
