- I have this build in mind but I can't seem to find the mech to support it? or because I'm not very knowledgeable.
equipment: AMS, EMC and Active probe
weapons: 2 ER PPC. 2 LRM20 or 2 LRM15
I don't mind if the mech is medium or heavy. which mech should I try this with? kindly help a new player Posted Image thanx !

You can more or less fit this onto a Hellbringer. However, some things don't make all that much sense
  • A single AMS is negigible. If you want a mech with multiple AMSes and ECM, you're likely looking for a Kit Fox but it won't carry the firepower you want.
  • Active Probe's detection capabilities are cancelled by your own ECM. You're only getting the sensor range boost.
  • ECM, PPCs and LRMs together you can squeeze onto a few of the Clan heavy mechs - Hellbringer, Night Gyr, Timber Wolf - by mixing omnipods and several IS mechs (Archer Tempest, Marauder 9M, several Thanatos variants). Nothing less than a heavy will have the tonnage for that payload.

A single AMS won't defeat a swarm of missiles by itself, but when you're with a group of allies, the difference between 6 mechs each with 1 AMS and no mechs with AMS is pretty significant.

Even in a situation where a nearby ally has 3xAMS, having your own AMS will boost it to 4.

Given the low slots and ammo requirements (even half a ton is often enough) I find its useful to have an AMS if you can squeeze it in.

There is also another mech that can fit all those things, if you are willing to spend MC: The Manul Sunspider, which is an excellent mech and can accommodate a wide array of configurations.

I'm not sure i'd pair up 2 PPC and 2 LRM, though; I like to have a tag to speed up lock time.

The second one might be a better build, swapping 1 PPC for a tag, and some more DHS.

Unless you're doing FP, you can only coordinate builds with three allies you dropped with as a group. The rest will be every-man-for-himself rando pugs.

And some of those every-man-for-himself rando pugs will realize that packing an AMS generates free sky candy, increasing their match score for zero effort, which is good for their PSR.

Never expect your pug team to cooperate with your plan, even by accident. :)
