Maybe additional missile ammo quirks? Since the 'Mech is designed mostly around missiles of various kinds, why not to make sure that it has a plentiful supply of those missiles. With cooldown quirk perhaps?

IDK, doesn't feel like a particularly flavorful quirk for the chassis and I'm not convinced it's so starved for tonnage to make it necessary.

Well, without knowing what variants and hardpoints we will have available, it is really difficult to assign quirks... Posted Image

This mech dad is extremely happy.
At 60 plus never thought I'd get to see my favorite all time mech in the game.
I'm overwhelmed thanks PGI!

You mentioned in match yesterday evening that you'd been playing battletech since 84. I was born in 94. Posted Image
The art looks sharp. I hope the 3d model does it justice, and honestly, I hope the mech is good, because it looks like fun.

Lock on speed, maybe target retention, fire rate, and velocity would all be welcome things for the Crusader to have. If they make it nice and tanky I wouldn't complain about that either.

Because I'm a sucker for aesthetics... For the love of god I hope the artist in charge of animation doesn't make it waddle or prance and actually imbues it with some semblance of weight and organic bipedal kinesiology.

For all the faults in their art style, mechwarrior 4 had some of the best animations of any mechwarrior game. Those mechs moved with weight, they just fumbled the tactile feedback (mechwarrior 3 is king there). MWO, mixed bag.

Agreed... To be fair, MW3 also did a fairly good job conveying weight and reasonable/logical walk/run animations. I especially appreciated the "lean" into turns... But that's the biomechanics geek side of me. lol

Ah good, the Crusader. Maybe we can get the Stinger and the Wasp into the game now as well. Then maybe some iconic IIC clan mechs, like the Locust, Shadowhawk and Griffin. Hell, lets go a step farther and throw a Scorpion and Goliath into the mix.

I am still waiting for my personal favorite mech to never be made in this game, the Guillotine.

Much as I would personally love that, sadly Quad ’Mechs haven’t been seen in the video games since MechWarrior 2 with the Tarantula. I don’t expect that to change anytime soon, for better or for worse.

I don’t think MWO has or really could have the infrastructure needed to support Quads, anyways. I think even MW2, the one game I know to have had one, didn’t really have the infrastructure for it either; two of the legs were “arms”, and behaved as such, among other things…

I have nothing against those light 'Mechs, but realistically speaking, the number of players buying them would not probably be too high. I think that the MWO players mostly prefer more powerful 'Mechs.

I know that some players have been asking for those 'Mechs.

I love Quads in BattleTech, but:
  • they would be probably difficult to implement in MWO
  • they would have limited viability in MWO

While you are waiting for the Guillotine, buy the Grasshopper. The Grasshopper is a similar type of 'Mech.

Surely it does not. Posted Image But is available in MWO, while the Guillotine is not.

Note that the Grasshopper is tall and lanky, while the Guillotine would have those wide shoulders ... I am not sure how XL friendly the Guillotine would be.

Anyone noticed that the Crusader's SRMs are missplaced?!
Perhaps PGI may be noticed to fix that before "the big release"...

Keeping those SRm racks in legs would not be too practical.

That's not a bug, its a feature. legs cannot torso twist, so the current aiming reticle could not be used for leg mounted weapons.

This is by design, and has been done multiple times before. PGI moves all rear mounts to the front and all leg mounts to the torsos.

In fact, I don’t believe there has ever been a rear mount in the history of the MechWarrior video game series. Presumably this is to make things more user-friendly, or maybe it’s just a limitation of playing a PC game. Either way, compromises like these are very frequent in the transition from tabletop to video game, for better or worse.

Not even MechWarrior 2 and MechWarrior 4, i.e. games that included functional rear-view cameras, had rear-firing weapons.

Which is unfortunate. I would have loved to see a Rifleman or Jenner do their arm-flip trick from the tabletop. lol

You must wait for the next MechWarrior game. Posted Image
