While playing after this update to the skill tree and waking up to the reality that everyone can easily min max to their hearts content, some weapon systems seem to have no behavior changes on certain mechs and other it's almost like damage isn't being applied right, any one else notice this? Example time for me I have a few rac5 face time builds and can chew up mechs pretty fast in a 1vs1 if they want to get bold and try and trade damage, the fight is in my favor... And now I seem to be shooting marshmallows and putting on a disco light show for other mechs while they shoot me dead in record time, and I get it safety in numbers and a True 1v1 fight is a super rareity but i wasn't getting punished this bad last month (last month platinum mauler was a killer/this month marshmallows thrower) un like my centurion (decent med mech with rac 5/ still the same decent med mech with rac5 this month)

I think you are seeing a combination of things. This patch seems you have brought back some higher skilled old players. Saw some names I hadn't seen in a while last night. Also, matchmaker seems to be off - had games with Cadets last night. That usually doesn't happen in NA prime time. Not sure your experience/ skill level, but RACs are not very effective against better players. Mauler has easily isolated hit boxes. The revamped skill tree also makes it easier to grab the improved gyros nodes that greatly reduce the blining effect of RACs, so some folks that used to get stun-locked by the RACs may be doing that. Your Centurian is well quirked and as a medium mech will get less focused than an Assault.

yeah this. ive seen atlas' with nothing but 4 ERL large lasers. the tiers a big mess right now. the skill tree has made a lot of old mechs viable again too, like my 1 erppc 2 slaser spider gets a lot of buffs being able to minmax the skills, or the triple ppc awesome with quirks you can refire in less than 3 seconds on the PPC's. more advanced players can dump all the useless stuff like advanced gyros, quickstart, target retention, etc.

Not everyone got full survival before. Now they do so everyone you are shooting has more health

just play the event queue for now, the novelty will wear off, it always does. there are no events on monday. so it seems like there are certain days you can play qp optimally.
also play now if you cant the mediums assaulting mode is not a hit. judging by the amount of wait time.
the other side of it is if i wasnt logged in for event queue, i probibly wouldnt be logged in at all.

RACs actually won't necessarily win damage trades while your opponent is shooting. For example Clan laser builds will dish out 60-90 points of damage for their full duration in a couple of seconds. If that player then ducks behind cover instead of face tanking your RACs while they cool down, you will lose every trade. What you might be seeing is the match maker throwing T1 players into the mix, against whom RACs are mostly useless as they will not let you get free hits in.
