I have started experiencing this issue recently. For some reason during the game your mech just stops responding to turning keys (A & D by default). Remapping the keys doesn't help and it stays this way until you re-launch the game.

Has anyone been struck by this as well?

P.S.: The funny thing is that a similar bug seem to exist in MW5, which is an entirely different game with a completely different engine.

Sometimes I experience something similar, but opposite: My 'Mech will not stop turning. Posted Image It's rare, but it happens from time to time.

Try a different keyboard? Just to test. If its still happening its an issue with the game likely, if not, it could be a problem with your keyboard. From the sounds of it, I expect its the game.

Strangely, I've had the "can't stop turning" bug pop up a few times, as well. And I have right and left turn remapped to Q and E. The most reliable fix I have found is to simply strike (with authority) multiple movement keys simultaneously. Something about the weird input causes the game to pull its head out of its fourth point of contact and do its job properly. I can't explain it, but least it's something a frustrated player can discover easily enough. Posted Image

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try it should the problem happen again.

Do you have and frequently use keys bound to alt and shift?

If so, I would try disabling "language switching" which is a windows keyboard short cut. Even if you don't have other languages installed it can cause a key to stick. For me this was usually the shift key, which is the sprint button in many games I play.

Yeah, I also experience the spinning bug sometimes, but that is something new. With the spinning bug it helps to enter the menu and then alt+tab back and forth a few times. However, when this "no turning for you" bug strikes there is nothing you can do except restarting the game.

And no, my keyboard is fine. As I've said, remapping keys to different ones while the bug is happening does not help. The game would not register any attempts to turn, whatever key you try to map and use. So definitely looks like a bug within the game logic.

Any new peripherals?... Joystick?

Seems weird that it would just pop up like this. IRQ conflict? buggy driver?

Double-check your system drivers to see if something went wonky. If new peripherals un-plug and see if it resolves.

Ha! Actually, you are spot on. Come to think of, I did connect the Xbox Controller not so long ago. Thanks for an idea, I will try unplugging it.

I had issues like this for awhile. It was my xBox controller.

Make sure that there is no dust in the laser sensor of your mouse. Posted Image

Yeah, I was going to say, check peripherals or USB devices that are plugged in. Sometimes they mess with inputs.

Odds are you have a key sticking, if any key sticks on a keyboard regardless of what key it is, it will cause some weird problems accross the system. It can be a huge pain to troubleshoot too.

I got same issue actually too often, pushing that key where your turning is stuck to removes bug (if mech is autoturning to right just push D if you are using default WASD)... didn't have that bug in past but past Year or so seems to happen too often (pretty much at least once every MWO session) no same kind of issues anywhere else than MWO

Possibly if there is a turning problem it could be caused by a worm? Posted Image
