Couple Map Suggestions For Francois.

1. Manasia Twa Arena
I think Francois is on the right track with the 4 arena's in Vitric Forge.
I'd like to suggest a map that builds on that idea, and perhaps creates a new game mode.
Imagine a big map that physically separates into 3 arenas. Each arena has a set of opposing lances dropped in them.
Each arena has a built in Assault mode trigger built into the floor...
So when the match starts, the game plays out as 3 separate games of 4 v 4. Whoever is left standing will tick down their Assault timer. Whoever wins 2 out of 3 wins the game.
Different biomes and assets could be used for each of the 3 arenas to make them unique from each other, but still thematically connected.
2. Night Vision Required.
The next suggestion is pretty basic- Make a map that is pitch black and requires night vision. The idea being that if everything is green, then pretty much any asset can be used from any map.

1. Solaris City-Remove the water (performance reasons), Remove dead ends and close buildings all over the outskirts. Maybe redo the road grid and go from there. Add street level lighting. There's lots of windows in the buildings and streetlights, but everything is dark. A real urban area has a entire amber glow even into the sky.
2. Forest Colony (new). It's too big and much of it is wasted space. There are also pathing issues where it cuts through the mountain side. Honestly, it probably could use a lot of redesign. The part I like the most is the part lifted from the original.
3. Terra Firma. The middle area needs some kind of work. There isn't a way to approach the enemy team through the middle of the map. You get torn to shreds from 700-800 m across. It's most problematic for Domination where it can be hard to hold the edge of the circle without being exposed entirely (maybe that's the point of king of the hill, but MWO never designed maps to work that way with the mode).

Sir, we have been assured by the Cauldron that sniping is not a meta and there are no sniper maps. They have further assured us that sniping is, in fact, not even a thing in MWO and you should not be afraid to run directly across maps into the open.

Didn't they do a rework of every maps temperature and adjust them to be closer to the baseline but didn't change the number shown on the map loading screen? I certainly remember the hot maps being really hot and making laser play very difficult. Now even the new terra therma and caustic are not really all that hot anymore.

its not about temperature, its that this game has too many snow maps already. its possible to get a map vote where every option is a snow map.
map temperature never really was a thing. a marginal inconvenience at most. same goes for map gravity. there are numbers and they might vary by no more than 10%, and im not sure they were ever used. they used to have a hotspot mechanic in some maps like the cauldera in old terra therma and caustic which were above ambient. this was a good mechanic. mwll took this kind of thing to an extreme, on some maps you would be hot standing in lava, but sometimes you would get an alien moon where you could stand in a pool of liquid hydrocarbons and cool off. problem with mwo is that it wasn't applied granular enough. just to the "central feature" about which to nascar. the correct way to use that mechanic is say put a hotspot in a good sniper position, so they could use that position but have to deal with more heat. you put a cool pool in the open so you can cool off fast, but the tradeoff is you are stuck in the open. map gravity i believe was mentioned as part of the event queue, so we might be seeing kerbal space program with mechs soonish.
meh this one is better

Also, I loved the mech refurbishing plant in MW5, so there's something to think about..
And for god's sake.. stop with the sniping/extreme cover maps. LRMs are unplayable on most of them.

SIR!
As we have all been told, repeatedly and at length, by the Cauldron, all playstyles are now valid and viable on all maps. So long as those playstyles focus on pinpoint damage from across the map with massive alpha damage.
