Not like the campaign texts tell you exactly that, several times...
I honestly like it like that. It's similar to multi-missions, with the exeption that those usually pass a few days per mission, so your mech from the first mission can be repaired for the 3rd mission for example.

Nothing that 12 mechs in a Leopard drop ship doesn’t solve. A tiny dropship. Capable of carrying 4 mechs plus very limited spare parts.
Aaaand now I’m thinking about it again, dang it.

You can, you just need to cycle through the mechs as you do missions. You need probably 8 mechs, and you rotate them for each mission.
