Ok here goes…
Right now there ver little incentive for most people to have more then variant of each mech. In the beginning it was needed for skilling up a mech, which I do not miss. Right now beyond having it there to play when another is tied up, or to for a different load out there is not much reason to buy different chassis. It’s the different load outs however that I think might be able to help. What if at the ready screen you could choose a chassis you own for the mech you’ve picked.
Example you pick your mech like normal so my Mad Dog B with say LRMs. We pick game mode and map and it’s Solaris. But I own 3 other Mad Dogs so I can now select one of my other variants setup for close quarters instead of open maps or vice versa. This is also helpful for people with close quarters brawler builds ending up on long range maps.
I think this could help incentivize people to buy more bays and variants and would make having more mechs useful for the more casual player.
Just a thought. Would love to know what people think.
Thanks for coming to my mechs talk

It's an interesting thought, and one that might have been useful to implement under the current climate of most people being unwilling to communicate and respect each other's play styles.
Unfortunately, it's also impossible without entirely changing the game engine. The current underlying "CryEngine 3" system that MWO runs upon requires total preloading of resources in order to operate. Any complete swap however is unlikely to ever happen for several other reasons. (Please avoid asking about those, as it would side-rail your thread in short order, and I do not want that happening!)
Quite frankly, and I know this is hard for people to accept, but the players should just learn to do as others did around 6 years ago. No matter what anyone thinks, it's not that hard for anyone to communicate and respect each other's play styles once more. Better communication tools now exist, and things like an odd Mech configuration being brought on a Map which is hostile to it should not even be the kind of awful issue which it currently happens to be. It really ticks me off that these problems even exist, but the issue really is more with the Community here and not the game, and it should not have to be worked around via software. Heck, please pardon my being totally angry at this point, as this has been a long-standing hot upset for me, and is not specifically directed towards you.

Anyone that is using LRM's and complains about Solaris I feel just don't know how to use LRM's well, that they rely on being behind big rocky terrain that their LRM's can climb over, since that is what Solaris stops from happening. Sure, it can be more challenging with LRMs, but I will still vote for it when I have LRMs. Why? Because I know there are clear long firing lines, that I can fire over my allies as I am behind them, adding my firepower to theirs, plus being able to dumb fire LRMs is always a good skill. If you can dumb fire your LRMs, it can be more effective then getting a lock. I've killed, and been killed by dumb fired LRMs, since you don't expect it coming for you without that red text (and Betty warning) saying incoming missile (of course, if you're using a Stealth Mech, I assume you are more aware of dumb fired LRMs).
