Hi everyone,

I didn't pick up any of the DLCs because the 'four player vs. constant swarm' genre didn't appeal to me (or feel very mechwarrior) and I simply haven't been playing as a result.

I tried modding the spawn tables to have one or two large BV spawns per mission and the others be small enough in BV to only produce one vehicle - and it might've worked a bit but it still felt silly.

Has anyone done better? Is there a mod being maintained that reduces enemy formations to only one or two per mission but ensures they include the occasional heavy lance?

I cant help, but I wanted to comment and follow this thread because this is my exact problem with MW5 as well.

Classic mechwarrior games felt like a series of duels and small but meaningful engagements.

Going up against big scary mechs was progression, thats how you get salvage after all.

MW5 has a lot of issues, but the constant swarms of weak enemies it its largest problem.

Have your tried out Coyotes Mission Pack?

I think it was said it would not end but at least reduce the vehicle spawn somewhat...some Mission are the type that waves of enemies appear regardless...

But it has even some Duel Mission, i only experienced an 8vs8 so far but from the reading it can be less like 1vs1 as i understand it.

TTrulezAI is also a must, Pilot Overhaul, vonBiomes, (updated a day ago) give much to the game!
Hellfire and Brimstone makes Missiles and PPC fire look a lot better (the AC visual of HFB i am not a fan of).

Its a gameenhancer!

I had recently a nice mission to defend/attack and aside of a few Tanks and Vtols and the enemy side Mechs suddenly a Mercenary Lance apeared that was after me for the reward of killing me (got 1 million per killed enemy merc) and later a pirate star (well, it was five of them) interfered in the fight also, in which i was 2 times repairing and rearming my mech in the friendly base (i had fielded 3 Mechs to stay in tonnage limits).

That mission took quite a while, the allies even send 2 Annihilators after the enemy base (they killed 3 of the pirate mechs) and i liked that kind of task with the spice of surprise on top!
