I think the event should become permanent
make a suggestion box..... change it up...
its a nice new breath to a stale game from a decade ago

Agree
I just happened to reinstall last week after ~6 years away, and I got into more drop deck matches over the last weekend than I ever saw in total back in the day.
Maybe change up some of the maps/restrictions/modes, but its a solid alternative to endless quickmatches.

The matches are only good the population in event queue was high- which was because the rewards were good and over a NA long weekend. That warhorn is the only cosmetic in this game I have ever actually wanted, and the ridiculous amount of credits and MC for only 12 matches was a good incentive for the masses.
Take away the rewards and many people would be unlikely to ever bother with event queue, and long wait times means no one cares to play it. See Solaris mode for an example.

As a player who came back ONLY to play Event Queue, the more time they have it up, the more time I will play. The more time I play, the more likely I will spend money. I also played many games well after I unlocked all the weekend challenges. So didn’t do it just for the giveaways. Just not able to play a lot because of all the other social events during a holiday weekend. Was also pretty busy no matter what time I was able to play, which included not prime time.
Not going to play SoupQ. Did accidentally hit QP twice the last time they had Event Queue up, and before I could move the mouse over to click Cancel, I was in a match. So still PLENTY of people in SoupQ while events are running.
Solaris died because it was a bad implementation of a good idea. Not because there were no extra rewards. Remember, you used to be able to get caches that had a good chance for bolt-ons for playing all the time. I have 20+ bolt ons in my inventory that were from those caches. I have not unlocked one bolt on from a QP cache. Long before they decided to shut down that queue nobody was doing that mode even during prime time.

Nah, I played many hours past unlocking all the rewards. The event, for the most part, was a refreshing change of pace. The new meta (flying LRM ECM whales) was fun to work out and then counter. Having 4 mechs to choose from, as well as knowing what map you were getting, made things much more fun.

so after the 12 games you just stopped playing that mode?
your that desperate for mc?
cbills, mech bays, free mechs... Free mc... is not what anyone still comes here for..
but hovering assaults, flying urbies? think about that you could change with the **** *** mechanics that are in place..
doesnt have to count,
doesnt even have to earn you cbills.......
for fun...

i dont know about that but i really only play events, and nothing but events. its possibly the maximum i can play without getting sick of the game, and i get mc, mech bays, mechs, sometimes heroes (i hope it goes up to mediums at least, last time they did one of these it was all squirrels).

Hovering assaults? With a few jump jet quirks, you can change direction and fly level with a bit of practice. LOVED it with my Highlander Heavy Metal... no jump jet shake and weapons in the arms... I was a freaking orbital PPC platform!

The events definitely need to be a weekly event even if its just each weekend to maximize use of the larger server pop.
To me the game is in the best place its been gameplay wise and getting better with each new balance pass. There is merit also in simply changing up the weapons performance once or twice a year to break up the meta and forge new ones. Eve online has been doing that for ages as a way to keep the game fresh but not resort to endless power creep. Sure it sucks to have your favorite meta mech and build nerfed but then you get the joy of finding the new one first and wrecking face in it till it catches on. The slight overbuff of snubs has changed the meta into a more brawly nature and made a fair few mechs that were meh into nice performers.
