Have they spoken about whether someone can switch from Merc Corp to Faction or visa versa, and what happens? Would you retain your honorary faction ranking?

Or is this one of those cases where you just need to setup seperate accounts - one for each thing they want to do?

My serch-fu fails me at the moment, but I'm pretty sure this is correct. Swapping factions puts you back at the bottom of the pecking order.

The whole of the Community Warfare pillar, which is what this is all related to, will be delayed until a month or two after launch. They want to get the core gameplay down first, and not to be rushed on it or the bigger-picture stuff. As such, I don't think things like this have been finalized yet - but from what they have indicated, you will be able to change factions but will lose the benefits you might have earned with a faction when leaving. Those seem to be things like rank within that faction (which may or may not have in-game benefits), discounts on certain mechs or weapons, and possible more.

No, PGI hasn't said. They're probably not finalized yet.

Cool thanks for the update guys. I actually would prefer a month or so to tool around before having to decide on a faction.
