every weapon in the game gets heat attached to it , MGS do not. when someone is doing 80 dps with nothing but machine guns and no penalty , that's bs . It has been years , ur lights are fine , lower the damn damage output . A Machine gun light should never be able to out dps an assault.
U took out knock downs as any kind of counter and u give lights a lag shield which literally halfs the damage. U want balance??? maybe dont make lights able to take a beating like an assault. Make the game actually make sense. MGS in battle tech were never able to strip armor off mechs. They were for infantry. When ur MGS crit mechs without even having yellow armor , that is an issue.

Many will go against this post due to abusing a system and they know it . MGS should never be able to out dps gauss!!! The max mgs should be is 0.25 damage per sec to make it at least realistic. 1 dps and up is over kill with no heat problems... Ever see a 50cal melt from to much firing?

Please fix them and make this game normal again!!! They were fine in closed beta!!!

Usually somewhat OP if they are on lights or mediums which have the speed to deal with their reduced range. Not as much on assaults and heavies.

Looks like after this post was made, they updated the skill tree, which now has increased anti-critical abilities, I have noticed the mgs do not crit like they used to.

MGs are situational like flamers in that due to their reduced range, they are weak against high ranged types. Super powerful against flamer mechs and mechs that don't move fast.
