We've should have had the clan heavy gauss also known as Hyper assault guass rifles by now.
They should function similar to the rotary autocannons with no jam and a shorter 'spin up' or charge up but instead of jamming when the bar is full it starts a cooldown the bar also does not reduce if you stop firing and if you let off enough it requires another few seconds to charge up again, before resuming to fire it's remaining per shot ammo being 20 30 40 shots per the weapon name.

I do not think that PGI has the needed manpower to implement this weapon at this time.
