A lot of games have daily missions/quests, to keep people logging in every day.
Why doesn't MWO?

Is there a design philosophy behind the monthly marketing events that they do vs daily?

Id imagine it's just down to there being less months in the year than days in a month and it is an old game.

Game never really left maintenance mode. We got new maps, cosmetics, and a mech, but nothing in terms of features.

I guess technically it does have daily's--
Each of your mechs have double exp for the first 3 games they win on daily basis....

And supply caches are a constant feed of rewards.. They are helpful for new players, for sure.

The answer is probably to do with how the event system is coded. They could probably create a one day event, and use a macro to run it again every day. But then their whole event history and stuff is going to clog up. Do you delete the event after the day is over? What if people don't redeem? Can you auto-redeem? It may be simple issues technical issues like that.

Personally, I'd welcome a daily event system. Maybe each day there are 3-5 random goals out of a pool of 15-20.

Isn't it only the first game they win? The x2 XP goes away after that.

run one year long event with 365 redeems, just like the lootbag pages they could split it into 2x 183 bag tabs

One common complaint was always not having enough time to complete an event when they were weekend or half-week long events. Some people cannot play every week. To counter this, they decided to have month-long events.
I think daily is unnecessary and a lot of overhead. I think they have to make the events manually. I think weekly and monthly would be fine. Besides, it's not like they make money if people are logging in. They only make money if you buy something with cash. I don't think daily missions would result in a good return on investment.

eh.... I don't feel like dailies are necessary for a game like this. What would the be and how could you change it up? Deal X damage? Get X kills? Get X Assists? there isn't exactly a huge variety that could be done in this game, particularly since gamemodes that are not skirmish don't happen that frequently in QP.

Though, if this was a thing, it would be one way to encourage those game modes to occur far more frequently...

I imagine it would be something like 3 Daily Missions per day-
1. Win 3 Matches.
(any mech, anyone can do it.)

2. Win 3 Matches in [Weight Class] Mech.
(Given randomly to people, on Wednesday some people have heavies, some get mediums, etc)

3. Win 3 Matches in [Specific Mech].
(Random mech required for everyone. If you don't own it, it may encourage you to buy it.)

lol everyone says that, but in reality- 3 months into the game, you're buying mechs, you're mechlabing a lot, skilling things up, and it's nice to have a stockpile of random weapons that you don't need to pay for at that point in your career.

If you've built any mechs at all you already have a stockpile of useless crap because almost every stock mech in this game is crap and full of the same crap that you get in the cache. But I sure needed a 5th dream catcher, and I'm still missing the letter P.
