Google Stadia Is (OFFICIALLY) Dead - YouTube

Someone really thought it was to be a reliable business plattform...
Dev Is ANGRY Google Stadia Is Shutting Down - YouTube

Well, the writing was on the wall since its start and i do not understand how the company that knows everything does not know anything about their target market for streaming services...

Stadia died because the publishers themselves said hey this looks pretty profitable and took all their market share away by restricting their library to their own streaming services. Good I hate google anyways for trying to destroy any and all competition. Glad someone bit them back.

i knew it would flop with some basic back of napkin physics math. if you didnt live in the same state as the data center the lag was going to be attrocious. that was before they did a stupid and locked games to their platform.

Yeah, it was a short sighted concept. Certain games work fine if there's latency between the controller and the CPU, certain games crash and burn. If they had limited their game catalog to things that had realistic proof-of-concept testing or developers who were willing to customize, they would have had less business... but would still be IN business.

This is management ignoring the engineers. No tears shed here. Posted Image
