Ok, so this idea evolved out of another thread I started about 'Reward Commanders' so I can't take full credit nor would I try.

So picture this:

Your a LRM boat and a light pilot has been super helpful getting you locks, tagging, narcing etc. but because they were doing that they weren't getting much damage done. Down arrow for light pilot? Not fair!

A dead pilot has helped you a bunch by coaching you from beyond the grave, maybe with that particular pilots help you wouldn't have done so well.

Someone takes command of the game and leads you to victory. All they get is 'gj'? Not fair!

The last man standing has to fight off impossible odds in a crippled mech and entertains the hell out of you while you watch.

There's a bunch of reasons to give out rewards to your team mates.

The biggest one I can think of is that it puts Humans in charge of deciding that these pilots deserve a little extra reward for the extra efforts they put in.

So everybody gets 10 to 20 match points that they can give away at the end of a match. Not from their own total.

Fierce Ferret mentioned maybe 10 times in a 24 hour period you can do this.

Just click on the pilots name you want to give match score to.

Maybe that gives the light pilot the extra points necessary to get a green arrow that an algorithm just can't factor in.

I can think of a few people who would be really upset by this, as it bumps them up into an "unplayable tier" that much faster.

Yeah, and will destroy the Caulderan's plans, and make the game meaningful again, instead of an slower CS, with big Mechs?

Sure will, and a lot of the other players will fall down as they can not compete with team play! Double sure.

Oh, and slow Assaults have some fun again!?! Tripple sure.

It is extremely easy to give away ... if it does not come from your own property.

I would suggest giving away those points ... from your own Match Score. That way you can demonstrate how much you "really" appreciate some other player's effort.

That's fair.

I can understand making the sacrifice from your own matchscore.

Not only does that prove intent but it solidifies the fact that you are working together as a team.

The game is advertised to us as a game of teamwork, although much is still needed to make that an actually true statement.

Just don't expect much matchscore from me when I'm playing a light. I can barely make an equal sign most games, let alone enough to share!

Unless I have missed something, the OP's post only talks about players adding willingly to somebody else's score.
