Trading has been the best way to play the multiplayer in every game in this series. It's not going anywhere.

Except we used to have brawling in this game...... But with the changes to mid to long range weapons, not so much anymore.

By that definition a brawl is a trade too...

The best way to play is not to trade, but hit the enemy without getting shot. You trade when you have to, you take hits when you have to, you tank when you have to.

Edit: Wow, popular topic.

Brawling is not trading. Lol.

Not getting hit while trading is exceptional trading, but still trading.

There is plenty of short range trade; OPs favorite mech EXCELS at short corner/hill peaks. It's kind of the FLE-17s whole thing.

GOOD PLAYERS

You might want to watch some good players stream to know what they do.

The best way to play is to not get in a trade in the first place. Its unavoidable to trade sure, but a trade becomes a trade when 2 or more mechs exchange fire. There are plenty of situations in MWO when mechs don't exchange fire, but one side just gets hit and thus are not trading.

Catching return fire is what those silly short range builds are for. As a ERLL/Gauss/PPC build you're way too important to do that. Make sure to remind any of those pesky potato teammates dragging along brawlers of this constantly.

I'll quote myself

"You trade when you have to, you take hits when you have to, you tank when you have to."

Only reason a sniper would have to tank is if those potatoes weren't doing their job.

Just remember when you get to T1 over the wrecks of all those baked potatoes that they deserve to be farmed endlessly by sniper premades and you deserve to farm them because you are good. And make sure to demand lower queue times no matter what. You have potatoes out there to farm.

So, T1 is like FP just less mechs 'n' shorter waiting times?! This surprise just broke my spine! Posted Image

OP has one post in 7 years and it is to complain about lights, that is it. That just seems strange.

Does he stay with the group?
Does he boat only long range weapons and stay away from support?
Is he relying almost entirely on LRMs?

Some builds fight lights better than others and if you are going to take a build which cannot deal with a Flea or Arctic Cheetah then you better stay with the pack because NOTHING attracts a light to your *** like a continuous stream of LRMs from far away from supporting mechs or a long range sniper in a heavy or assault just sitting out there poking. If that is the game you want to play then you better bring something as a backup and invest in seismic sensor but even then sitting alone while two lights work you over is going to get you dead.

I can't share the OP's emotions on the matter.

It seems to me that the OP came, posted his only post, and left again.

How dare those potatoes not git gud. Don't they know how bored those T1s are and how tired they are of waiting for a match to farm in? Such inconsiderate potatoes.

While I think there should be a bit more separation of t1 and t3 the system does put everyone where they are usually matched with others of their skill level. But with the low pops tier bleed over is inevitable if you want reasonable queue times so it is what it is. I remember before they tweaked the mm to have a wider spread it could take several minutes even during prime to get a match and it was even worse for t1 players since that has the lowest amount of active players at any given time of the day past maybe late night US eastern where you see a lot of US higher tiers staying up late to get in on the EU action.

You get them on your team as much as against so it usually evens out over time. Yeah it can be annoying to get farmed by a t1 premade but to be honest a t3 premade is going to eat up most of the mechs they face as long as there are no higher tier premades on the other side. Not so much with a t4 or especially t5 lance.. Not trying to be mean but you have to be particularly ultra casual to maintain a sub tier 3 ranking. Posted Image

T3 are not potatoes. They are by definition the average player and understand the game about as well as anyone. This is why they sit firmly in the middle as the largest tier group in the game. You complaining about getting farmed by a t1 premade is about the the same as a t5 or t4 complaining they got farmed by a t3 premade. It's all relative to your personal skill level. If you don't want to get farmed by t1 then the obvious choice would be to be introspective about your own performance and see how you can improve it so that you yourself get into t1 and become the terror of the server? Sure? But who cares what an ultra competitive person thinks when it comes to sh*t talk? Part of the reason they perform above average is that iron confidence in themselves. DATA can be an arrogant *** at times but then again he is a world class player so he can back it up.

Sure let's compete for MS with the T1s out on a farming run, occasionally pissing all over teammates in VOIP. That sounds positively LOVELY. Anything to just let them come in and farm potatoes because they're SOOOOO IMPORTANT and we just like them THAT MUCH.

Can you tell us where did that evil T1 touch you, because this amount of butthurt is hilarious.
