I think a fun new game mode would be stock mech draft, where each team had to draft from a randomized pool of stock builds. Probably just wishful thinking on my part, and I'm sure most people would vote against it, but I think it could be fun!

I am not sure that splitting up the already limited number of players into different buckets would be a good idea. Waiting times would probably go up.

Also, I guess that many players enjoy the customization of their 'Mechs.

I think you are 100% right. BUT I wish customization in this game didn't mean swapping interesting lore builds for all one type of weapon. Dividing the player pool is a legit concern tho..

In MWO you can run any loadout that you wish. Just let PSR do its work.

Also, have you tried MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries? Maybe that game would be more to your liking.

Yes, I tried MW5. It's ok... Doing a draft of stock builds is not just about taking away the roll to customize. You can't really do a draft of custom mechs anyway, it wouldn't really be practical. It could still work as an event queue, I think.

And I think saying "go ahead and build a lore build and let PSR do the work" is not very satisfying. Sure, some people can climb to top tier in **** builds, but I think many people feel the pressure to run really lame laser boats just to play with people who don't nascar constantly.

I kind of like this idea but with a twist, everything is randomized for the event.

You choose to participate and you're placed in a random trial/stock mech on a random map with a random win condition.

The matchmaker only balances the weight [and PSR where it can].

<edit>
Technically this might be considered an 'Event Suggestion' and not a feature, though?
