The nerfs were accompanied by buffs though. They removed weapon specific buffs and replaced them with generic so you have more flexibility in fits. The big nerf is the heat scale penalty to clan er larges so boating them is going to get a fair bit hotter. Thats good because the 6 er large vomits were getting a bit out of control. The buff is that they are a bit cooler to fire individually so it will be easier to run on the smaller sniper mechs that use two of them like mediums and lights.

I didn't see a single is light mech get a nerf. Or clan light. I'm guessing they just "forgot" to list them. Maybe my jr7-d isn't OP after all...guess that means I haven't used it enough for a new light mech op thread in a few weeks on the forum. I saw the platinum light was the lct-3s. At least it wasn't the lct-1v.

Statistically near every other weight class outperforms lights. If anything they need some more role based buffs like capture and sensor range etc instead of more weapon buffs. They are already good enough at dealing damage in most cases especially the clan lights.

The only nerf I am mad about is the nerf to the Crusader armor. Yes, let's remove armor from the arms so they can get blown off even easier. /facepalm

Clan ATM 3/6/9/12
  • Decreased minimum range to 60m (from 120m)
Even though I've never used ATMs I can tell this is a good change.

I know this because I've used IS LRMs A LOT and would suggest their minimum range be reduced from 180m down to 150m. 150m still isn't close and light and medium mechs would have no trouble closing that distance. Even heavy mechs wouldn't have much trouble getting within 150m with a little help from terrain.

It's rough in an IS LRM boat when someone charges straight at you from down range and you see them and they see you and they're able to get within that 180m so quickly.

The Crusader was an easy mode, pay-to-win OP mech. It was disgusting watching bad players just barrel straight into dangerous situations and get kills with Crusaders because the mech has so much firepower and is so tough to bring down. The nerfs to Crusader armor are well targeted and and well deserved. In fact, they're so well done that I'm starting to wonder of there are at least a couple of people at PGI who actually know what they're doing.

Still not a light mech nerf as any mech that uses that skill suffers that laughable one percent change. Light mech nerfs this path count still zero.

More relevant question IMO is how many unjust nerfs do you see?

I see stuff that overperformed in world champs finals nerfed and not seeing issue with those nerfs.

its the same failed path that PGI has been on since its start

you might say remove all the weapons all problems solved

reduction to Radar Dep especially hurts lights since they don't have the tonnage to add AMS (or you could say they have to remove weapons/fire power to add AMS)

then people ask why are lights under used well guess what

the constant nerfs
the mentality of nerfs

that is the problem
I wish I could convince people that if you keep doing the same things
you will get the same results

You must be reading a different patch notes than me. Radar derp got a 5% nerf which is milliseconds and is meant to stop the abuse of using pixel wide terrain like pipes and such from allowing you to sit in the open and break locks by strafing back and forth behind it. The only things to get actual nerfs was clan hmg by a fraction of a percent and the crusader which was a bit of a strong kamakazi mech in the right circumstances. Everything else was a solid buff.
